Curator’s statement
In November of 2025, I had the opportunity to travel with Hyatt and personally explore several of their top adults-only all-inclusive resorts in the Mexican Caribbean. Using Cancún International Airport as our hub, we visited properties stretching from an hour north to an hour south of the airport. I was genuinely impressed by the caliber of the accommodations, food, and service across the board. Still, each resort offers a distinct personality. Here’s how to decide which one is the best fit for your style of travel:

Swim up rooms at Secrets Playa Blanca.
Secrets Playa Blanca Costa Mujeres
Best for: Couples, relaxed friend groups, beach lovers, and destination weddings.
A newcomer to the region, Secrets Playa Blanca opened in February 2024 and sits along the white-sand coastline of Costa Mujeres. This resort is ideal for travelers seeking a serene, luxurious beachfront escape. The moment you step into the open-air lobby, you’re greeted with sweeping ocean views—an unforgettable first impression.
The property features seven restaurants and nine bars, offering an impressive range of dining options, from Mexican and Italian to French and hibachi. The Mexican restaurant was particularly exceptional, and the lobby bar’s cocktails were a highlight—perfect for meeting up before or after dinner.

The spa’s hydrotherapy circuit stands out for its many unique stations, making it a memorable experience in itself. Rooms are airy, elegant, and outfitted with both indoor and outdoor plunge pools. For couples planning a destination wedding, the resort offers multiple beachfront and garden ceremony locations, plus indoor alternatives for inclement weather. And pickleball fans will appreciate the brand-new courts currently being completed.

Impression Moxché by Secrets
Best for: Bachelorette parties, younger couples, and food enthusiasts.
Impression Moxché is the elevated, boutique-style expression of the Secrets brand, and it shows. This 198-room property delivers a chic, intimate atmosphere with lush green gardens, stylish modern design, and standout views (including from the stunning rooftop pool overlooking the coastline).

Exclusive dining area at Impression Moxche
What sets Impression apart is its exclusivity: guests have access to both the Impression and adjoining Secrets Moxché facilities, while Secrets guests cannot access Impression. This gives Impression a private, upscale feel while still offering an expansive array of amenities. Food lovers will be especially impressed, as Impression guests have access to 14 restaurants and 11 bars, ranging from refined buffets featuring dishes like stone crab to curated omakase experiences. A hidden speakeasy tucked behind a secret door in the hotel’s “pharmacy” adds a fun, memorable twist—your butler even provides a daily password for entry.

Room categories vary widely, with the standout being a multi-story suite that can connect to adjacent rooms… ideal for groups of friends or celebratory trips looking for shared space without sacrificing luxury.

Secrets Maroma’s expansive pool
Secrets Maroma Beach Riviera Cancun
Best for: Couples and friends in their 40s–60s seeking activities, a lovely beach, and warm service
Conveniently located less than an hour south of Cancún’s Airport, Secrets Maroma is set along one of the region’s most picturesque and expansive beaches. Rows of loungers and Bali beds ensure every guest has views—the beach is also perfect for long strolls. The resort blends traditional design with pops of vibrant color, giving it a warm, welcoming atmosphere.

Macrame making in Maroma
What truly distinguishes Maroma is its lineup of activities and entertainment. Guests can participate in nightly events and creative classes such as casino night, macramé workshops, salsa lessons, and even a silent disco. The staff here are deeply caring and enthusiastic, adding an extra layer of charm to the experience (much of the staff has been with the property for over a decade, since opening).
The food is consistently strong, with standout tacos and fresh seafood dishes. Paired with the large pools and beautiful beachfront, this resort is perfect for travelers who want a mix of relaxation and lively, engaging experiences—with easy access to the airport.
