Site Inspection at the Intercontinental Washington, DC - The Wharf in the Nation's Capital
Curator’s statement

I conducted a site inspection while staying at the beautiful InterContinental Washington, DC -Wharf Hotel in Washington, DC. The hotel is located at the Wharf, a sprawling area with many restaurants and shops. Not only is the hotel stunning, but the staff was exceptional in every area of the property. This will be my new go-to while in DC, and I highly recommend this property for leisure and business travelers, as well as families.

The hotel is about three miles from the Reagan National Airport (DCA) and five miles from the tourist area, museums and monuments. The views are spectacular, overlooking the Wharf and the Potomac River.

The lobby is grand, with many seating areas for networking or lounging. The check-in process was. full service from luggage assistance from the bellman, transportation coordinated by the concierge and a pleasant welcome from the front desk staff. This property has its own IHG luxury program, so I was VIP'd before arrival and received some fantastic perks for booking via Fora.

I arrived early in the morning, so my room was not quite ready, so I enjoyed brunch in their cute on-property restaurant, Dockside Restaurant & Bar. It was a 10/10 for service, food quality, taste, and the view. My room was ready when I wrapped up my meal, and it was time for my tour.

I began my tour with their most luxurious suite, The Constellation Suite. It is one of the most lavish suites I have viewed recently. It is bi-level, with entertainment on the upper level and a beautiful bedroom, office, and bathroom on the lower level. The hotel also has five other suite options that are equally stunning. I stayed in a King Premier Room with a river view. It was beautiful and spacious.

Other amenities include a rooftop pool and bar, a world-class gym, a stunning spa and several bars, including the panoramic view penthouse bar,

Lastly, if you're interested in hosting a conference or meeting, this is the place. The event space is beautiful and the property is prime for business and leisure.
