I recently embarked on a solo journey to the breathtaking Niyama Private Islands resort in the Maldives, and it was an experience beyond my wildest dreams. Safety was a top priority for me as a solo female traveler, and Niyama Private Islands made me feel secure throughout my stay. They curated a VIP fast-track airport experience — at an additional cost — where a private car picked me up directly from the steps of the plane and whisked me away to a private lounge while I waited for my domestic flight. Initially, I was scheduled to take a seaplane, but due to torrential rain, they gave me the option to fly commercially as the island is near a small commercial airport. On my return, the seaplane dropped me off, and I was greeted by a private car that took me through a personalized security process, away from other travelers, into a private lounge where my immigration clearance was handled. I was then driven straight to the airplane for my departure.
Opting for the all-inclusive booking option, I was able to fully immerse myself in the tranquility of the resort without worrying about extra costs for meals or alcoholic beverages. While there are meal upgrades available, they are entirely optional — the culinary offerings included are already divine.
The dining experience at Niyama is unparalleled, starting with the two exceptional breakfast restaurants: Epicure and Blu. For lunch, I enjoyed fresh and flavorful dishes at Dune and Subsix, the latter being an underwater dining experience that is truly unique. Dinner was always a highlight, with multiple options such as Tribal, which offers exotic African, Central and South American cuisines, and Edge, an overwater restaurant that serves delectable seafood. For a more laid-back vibe, I also dined at Nest, nestled high in the treetops with an Asian fusion menu, and The Deli, which provided quick and delicious bites. One particularly cool experience was enjoying a floating breakfast in my private plunge pool, which added an extra touch of luxury to my mornings.

My accommodations were nothing short of spectacular. I stayed in an overwater bungalow with a plunge pool and an outdoor shower, providing the perfect blend of luxury and nature. The personalized bike provided by the resort made it easy and enjoyable to explore the island, offering both convenience and a relaxing ride from one side of the private island to the other.

Beyond the extraordinary food and stunning accommodations, the resort offers a plethora of activities to make your stay unforgettable. I indulged in a sunset dolphin cruise, witnessing these majestic creatures in their natural habitat as the sky turned vibrant hues of orange and pink. The private island adventure was another standout experience. For four hours, I was set up on a secluded island with a beautifully prepared meal, allowing me to bask in the solitude and serenity of my own private paradise.
However, the highlight of my stay was the seven-day Ayurvedic immersion. This transformative program included 90-minute Ayurvedic spa treatments tailored to my dosha every single day. Who doesn’t want to have a daily massage? It also included a private yoga session. The personalized care and attention to detail were nothing short of divine, leaving me feeling rejuvenated and at peace. Additionally, I experienced the fascinating epigenetic treatment, which provided insights into my genetic makeup and personalized wellness recommendations.

Another memorable experience from my solo trip to Niyama Private Islands was the drone photo shoot with the on-property photo studio. This was my first time doing a drone photo session, and it was nothing short of amazing. The aerial shots captured the stunning beauty of the overwater bungalow, the turquoise waters and the lush greenery, providing a unique and breathtaking perspective. The professional team made the entire process seamless and fun, resulting in spectacular photos that perfectly encapsulated the magic of my stay. This experience added an extra layer of excitement and left me with incredible memories to cherish.
For those interested in staying active, among other things, Niyama offers tennis with a professional coach, surfing, ensuring you can keep up your game and catch some waves while on vacation. Families will appreciate the kids' club and various activities designed to keep the little ones entertained.

As someone who has curated incentives for groups for many years, I can confidently say that Niyama Private Islands is an amazing property for girls' trips, family reunions or incentive groups. The combination of luxurious accommodations, world-class dining and immersive experiences makes this resort a top choice for both solo travelers and group getaways.
