Nestled in the heart of Florence, just steps from the Duomo, Hotel Calzaiuoli offers an unbeatable location that makes exploring the city's treasures effortless. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with a chilled bottle of Prosecco and desserts in our beautifully appointed room, setting the tone for a truly special stay.
Our room boasted breathtaking views of Piazza della Republic and the carousel, with music from street performers drifting up through the open windows, adding to the magical ambiance. The charming decor, plush beds and comfortable furnishings create a perfect retreat after long days of sightseeing.
Each morning, we indulged in the hotel's quaint breakfast spread, featuring an assortment of fresh pastries, cheeses and delicious Italian coffee. The intimate setting made it a cozy and relaxing way to start the day. In the evenings, the hotel also provides a complimentary beverage service with Prosecco, water and juice — a delightful way to unwind after exploring the city. On our final morning, with an early six am flight to catch, the hotel thoughtfully provided breakfast bites to go — a much-appreciated touch that showcased their attention to detail and guest comfort.
We loved our stay so much that we actually checked out for three nights to visit another destination and then checked back in again. Returning to the hotel felt like coming home, reaffirming just how much we appreciated its comfort, charm and exceptional service.
Another highlight was the impeccable turn-down service, which added a layer of luxury to our stay. Returning to a refreshed room each evening, with neatly arranged linens and a sense of tranquility, made for an exceptionally comfortable experience.
Ultimately, Hotel Calzaiuoli’s biggest asset is its unparalleled location. With the Duomo, Uffizi Gallery and Ponte Vecchio all within easy walking distance, it allowed us to immerse ourselves fully in Florence’s beauty without the hassle of long commutes.

Definitely would not recommend driving a car to the hotel — either drop your car at the rental location when you arrive in Florence or take a cab. If you are light on bags, you can walk! Also an easy cab ride or walk from the train station.
