I stayed at the Montage with my family for a short trip. Not only was the hotel staff attentive and accommodating, but I found the location superb. The beach access alone is a perk in and of itself, and we took advantage of the free trolley that travels along the Pacific Coast Highway. For an easy stay with all the amenities, I cannot recommend it enough.

The Montage is easily accessible from Los Angeles or the Orange County airport. Although we had a rental car, the hotel can offer assistance to and from the airport. It is located directly on the beach so one doesn't have to worry about crossing the busy Pacific Coast Highway to access the beach. There is also a free local trolley that can take guests directly to downtown Laguna.
I found the restaurants delicious. I also valued the other special perks, such as a 24-hour swimming pool, as well as a spa and a gym. We were provided an oceanfront room upgrade as well. Although I wanted a family-friendly hotel that was also able to offer luxury amenities, I found the environment welcoming. A plus is live music in the lounge at night.
Need to know
This is a great resort for those that may also want that inclusive feel. The property is family-friendly, but the lounge had live music for the adults at night. There is a free trolley with a stop at the Montage so a car isn't necessary unless one wants to venture out to other surrounding areas.
