Site Inspection at The Palmetto Hotel in Charleston, South Carolina
Curator’s statement

In July of 2024, I did a site inspection while staying at the chic and stylish Palmetto Hotel in Charleston, South Carolina. My husband and I were looking for the perfect location to celebrate our anniversary and enjoy all that Charleston has to offer. The staff at this lovely boutique hotel were welcoming and attentive to our needs. I would love to return to The Palmetto Hotel and highly recommend it to my clients traveling to Charleston.

Nestled in the heart of Charleston’s historic district, The Palmetto Hotel exudes Southern charm and retro elegance. From the moment you step into the lobby, the welcoming vibe and exquisite décor set the tone for a memorable stay. The blend of contemporary amenities with classic Southern hospitality makes The Palmetto Hotel a standout destination for modern travelers.

One of my favorite aspects of The Palmetto Hotel was the attention to detail in every corner of the property. The perfectly curated playlist creates a jazzy, laid-back atmosphere that permeates the lobby. The rooms are tastefully decorated, featuring plush bedding, modern furnishings and thoughtful touches like locally sourced bath products and fresh flowers. The views from the upper floors offer a stunning panorama of Charleston’s historic rooftops and the serene waterfront.

The included breakfast was a delight with a selection of Southern staples such as fresh fruit, grits, biscuits and gravy and freshly baked local pastries. The staff’s genuine hospitality enhances the dining experience, making you feel right at home. Another bonus feature was complimentary bikes available to reserve to explore the city.

Need to know

I highly recommend The Palmetto Hotel for couples seeking a romantic getaway, history enthusiasts wanting to explore Charleston’s rich heritage and business travelers looking for a touch of luxury during their stay. It would also be the perfect spot for a girls trip! Its central location makes it convenient for exploring nearby attractions such as the Charleston City Market, Rainbow Row and the Battery.
