Curator’s statement
If you were in downtown Vancouver, at the very center of it all, and looked up, you would be at the Rosewood Hotel Georgia—100 years old, but renovated right back to brand new from one end to the other! There is a rooftop deck restaurant/bar at this hotel, but the one you have probably seen in pictures is part of the two-level suite where the likes of Taylor Swift and The Stones stay. There are some fierce competitors, but this is the best hotel in Vancouver!

Hotel features
Start with the wellness center/spa—it's not just a gym, but a world-class destination for laser and light skin treatments, skincare products, and techno gym workouts with digital avatars urging you on (transferrable from other Rosewood hotels to keep track of your progress).
Wander the hallways with your guide to the art, with amazing local artists featured prominently in the rooms, the hallways, and the public spaces. Of course, the Vancouver Art Gallery is directly across the street, as well!
Restaurants
If you want elegant hustle and bustle, the Reflections Terrace rooftop deck—somehow on the fourth floor, with more of the hotel rising around it—is the place to see and be seen, for drinks and appies after work. It's now sprawled under a retractable glass rainproof roof.
For the very, very, very best in dining, simply pop downstairs to the Michelin-starred Hawksworth, from David Hawksworth, one of the top chefs in all of Canada.
Right around the corner is Hy's Steakhouse, a throwback to the tableside service of the '70s. It's truly a wonderful experience, with the best steaks, wine, cocktails, and service.

The neighborhood
One of the biggest shopping malls in Canada is a one-block stroll away, running directly beside Granville Street.
Further up Granville is Vancouver's Entertainment District, a series of bars and restaurants that will keep you hopping till 2 or 3 am, should you wish!
Everything is at your fingertips in downtown Vancouver, from a skytrain system to whisk you to other municipalities, to the waterfront, to the sports stadiums hosting Vancouver Canucks and BC Lions games. Wander down the cobbled streets of Gastown for shops, restaurants, and bars down Water Street. There are interesting little "hole in the wall" discoveries the whole way down—look closely! Find live music virtually every night from 6 pm onwards at Guilt And Company, raucous Irish pub singalongs at The Blarney Stone, crafted cocktails and live music at Pourhouse, and more.
Another short stroll takes you to Canada Place, with its waterfront promenade, plus a series of great establishments overlooking the water, and even some of the hippest, trendiest bars and restaurants at The Fairmont Rim Hotel (The Botanist, Lobby Lounge, and Raw Bar). If you are hip, young, and single, head over here!
Need to know
Vancouver is a very walkable city in the downtown core. Almost everything is within a 10-block radius, and much of it is even closer to The Rosewood Hotel Georgia which is in the absolute center of it all. Walk across the street to the art gallery, down the block to the best steak house (Hy's), and a few blocks further to the waterfront, Canada Place, and the Gastown district of quaint hole in the wall discoveries. A few blocks in the other direction takes you to one of BC's largest malls, the bars of Granville Street (look for The Roxy, The Morrissey Irish Pub, The Granville Room, The Yale Saloon), and a bit further to the bustling restaurant hub of Yaletown. You can walk it all or grab a $5 taxi and walk back, should you wish.
