I am originally from the Dominican Republic and Casa de Campo La Romana has always been my favorite. It has always stood as a testament to the seamless integration of opulence and nature. As a curator of memorable experiences, the resort orchestrates a symphony of luxury, adventure, and cultural immersion. The design ethos reflects a deep respect for the local environment, incorporating the vibrant Dominican culture into every aspect of the guest experience.

Casa de Campo is a luxurious resort located in La Romana, Dominican Republic. Nestled on 7,000 acres of pristine Caribbean landscape, the resort offers a unique blend of world-class amenities, stunning scenery, and rich cultural experiences. The focal point of Casa de Campo is its commitment to providing an unparalleled vacation experience - considered the most complete resort in the Caribbean.

The resort boasts an array of accommodation options, from lavish villas overlooking the Caribbean Sea to elegant hotel rooms. I have had the opportunity to stay in both the hotel rooms and villas - each accommodation choice is meticulously designed to provide maximum comfort and privacy.

A highlight of any visit to Casa de Campo (and probably my favorite) is a journey to Altos de Chavon, a replica of a 16th-century Mediterranean village perched above the Chavon River. This cultural gem was designed by the Dominican architect Jose Antonio Caro and the Italian designer and cinematographer Roberto Coppa. Cobblestone streets, charming boutiques, art galleries and a Roman-style amphitheater contribute to the village's enchanting atmosphere. Go for breakfast, lunch or dinner, for an afternoon stroll or even a concert!

Whether you love to play golf (Casa de Campo is renowned for its championship golf courses, including the Teeth of the Dog, consistently ranked among the world's best), enjoy water sports (the resort's private Minitas Beach offers a plethora of water activities, from snorkeling and paddleboarding to sailing) or are a horse enthusiast (there's an equestrian center offering riding lessons, trail rides, and even polo matches), your days will be far from repetitive.

My top recommendation is to embark on a boat excursion or charter a yacht for a day of sailing - top pick and my always go-to is Palmilla Beach, located southeast of the East National Park in La Romana - you can depart from The Marina at Casa de Campo, where you will also find upscale shops, restaurants, and a lively nightlife scene.
