Site visit at EOLO - Patagonia's Spirit
Curator’s statement

I stayed at this beautiful, rustic property in February 2025. This quiet hotel delivers exceptional service in the heart of southern Patagonia (Argentina). I would highly recommend it for anyone looking to experience the spirit of the Patagonian steppe. I would absolutely stay at this property again.

Where to stay

This is a small, full-board (all-inclusive) Relais & Chateaux property set in the heart of Southern Patagonia — about 30 minutes outside of El Calafate. It boasts 18 rooms — all with vistas of the vast Patagonia Steppe. It is a quiet, rustic luxury with an onsite spa and on-property activities (horseback riding, biking, hiking)- many of which are included in the rate.

Highlights of this property include that it boasts multiple views of Lago Argentina and is about 40 minutes from the entrance to Los Glaciers National Park. This makes it a great spot to stay for those that want to explore the Perito Moreno Glacier. It is currently, one of the most accessible glaciers in the world.

There are no suites at this property. Rooms and bathrooms are simple and comfortable - boasting a tub/ shower combination with a rainhead shower and a single vanity/ sink. Two corner rooms (front two corners of the hotel) - boast views in two directions and are the highest level of accommodation available. In addition to a spa, dining room, courtyard, patio and bar room, there are multiple common area sitting rooms with vast views in every direction.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are all extravagant dining experiences with wine pairings, if desired. For those headed out on excursions, a pre-selected picnic lunch accompanies you for your day of Patagonia adventures.

The staff is lovely. Many live on property and are very attentive to guests. Whether you desire an afternoon tea or snack, just ask! It will be delivered to your room or wherever you're relaxing and taking in the views.

This is a seasonal property — closed in the winter. It has a two-night minimum, although I would not recommend less than three nights at this hotel if you want to have time to explore the region and enjoy onsite activities. I spent three nights at this property and could have easily stayed longer to fully take in the area and explore.

Need to know

This hotel is remote and only welcomes guests over the age of 15 (no children). It is a romantic, couple's style spot for anyone looking to experience the real beauty and peacefulness of Patagonia.
