At this resort I was welcomed with open arms by every person I came in contact with. From the pro shop employees to the front desk everyone was wonderful. The property is located in the hill country and offers many opportunities for families, couples or solo travelers.

I conducted a site visit and stay on-property. This hotel is in the hill country and truly makes you feel like you are not in Texas.
This hotel is great for solo travelers, couples, and can be good for kids. They offer an adults-only area as well as kid-friendly areas. The golf course, spa, villas and the main property are all beautiful and worth exploring while on property.
The staff was very welcoming and accommodating. Early check-in was offered and the room was beautiful. They are finishing up some renovations. The room was spacious and the showers had beautiful tile inside, with a golf finish.
The Villas are beautiful as they come with a golf cart, private pool area and its own bar and concierge service. This is great for families wanting some privacy.
The spa is one of the most beautiful spas located deep in La Cantera. They offer many different services and both indoor and outdoor facilities, as well as a private pool, gym and cabanas. These are only accessible to those who are paying for spa services. There is also a juice bar located there. At the spa, they offered a private pool that a couple could rent out for a few hours.
There are options for everyone. There are plenty of dietary-friendly options. On the weekends, they offer a breakfast buffet. There is 24 hour room service as well as a cafe that is open 24 hours. They have breakfast, lunch and dinner restaurants and offer poolside service, too.
At the adults-only pool area, there is a sunscreen machine that will allow you to stand in it and have the sunscreen cover you. I thought this was a fun addition.
The golf course is wonderful and the staff is very accommodating. The course is well-kept. Expect about 4.5 hours for those who are wanting to play.
I recommend this resort to anyone near or far from San Antonio.
Need to know
The hotel is located about 25 minutes from the airport and there is not shuttle service. Ride-share and taxis will be needed. There is a shuttle on property that will take you within a three mile radius, which includes the mall that is nearby. If you are looking to go downtown, plan for about a 25–30 minute drive.
