As you step across the threshold, a wave of tranquility washes over you, soothing your senses and inviting you to surrender to the embrace of the space. But it's not tranquility in a hushed, silent retreat kind of way. It's in a way that feels vibrant and refreshing. The grandeur of the looming front doors give way into an interior bathed in the day’s light, where nature gracefully melds with the intentional interior.

Situated right across from the Ferry Building, the hotel offers more than just a place to rest your head - it is a gateway to the best of San Francisco. From the outstanding waterfront and alcove rooms, the quintessential sights of the Bay Bridge and the glassy water greet you. If the water continues to call you, spend a day with the breeze in your hair and the playful splash of water beneath you. Before you embark, you can pop over to the ferry building for a cup at Blue Bottle and a book browse at Book Passage. The bustling town is right at your doorstep.

After a day out, Terrene Restaurant beckons you back with its farm-to-table ethos, celebrating the fresh flavors of the region. Under the expert guidance of Chef Scott Koranda, locally sourced ingredients take center stage, infusing each dish with a sense of place and purpose. Some ingredients even hail from some of my favorite hometown heroes. Dirty Girl Produce of Santa Cruz and Far West Fungi of Moss Landing.

And yet, it's not just the featured flavors that captivate guests. It's the thoughtful touches woven into every aspect of their day. From the rooms consciously adorned with reclaimed wood, to the eco-friendly water refill stations dotting the hallways, to the Do not Disturb rocks to place on your doorstop, every detail has been meticulously, cohesively curated. And from there, you can weave together a schedule of rejuvenating in-house activities. The obvious choice is to indulge in a rejuvenating soak in one of the rooftop spa’s outdoor tubs, or find your flow in an evening yoga class or sound bowl session that transcends the ordinary.

So, my dear friend, if you are seeking serenity in a sustainably holistic experience, look no further than 1 Hotel San Francisco - a haven for the soul and a beacon of conscious hospitality in the heart of the bay.

Need to Know

For me, staycation and spa day go hand in hand. 1 Hotel SF is the obvious staycation option for me, just over an hour away, as I can pop to a show, my favorite bars and get a spa session in - and still wake each day to the peaceful view of boats passing by. Reach out to me and let me plan your next stay!
