Birthday Bliss in Cape Cod
Curator’s statement

Cape Cod was the perfect setting for a joint birthday and girls trip, filled with simple moments that ended up meaning the most. Even though the weather was a little colder than expected, we still made the most of it spending time on the beach, riding bikes, and just enjoying being together. It wasn’t about perfect conditions, but about the memories we created along the way. This trip was all about celebrating friendship, another year of life, and time well spent with the people who matter most.

Our trip to Cape Cod started with a smooth arrival into Boston on Thursday, which set the tone for a relaxed but intentional girls trip. We kicked things off with breakfast at Willow & Ivy, a perfect, cozy start before heading out for one of the highlights of the day. From there, we made our way to Bodhi Spa in Norwood for a water journey spa experience that was both calming and rejuvenating, something I would absolutely recommend to clients looking to ease into their trip and truly unwind. Afterward, we drove down to Dennis, where our Airbnb was located, giving us a central and convenient base to explore the Cape. We ended the evening with dinner at The Oyster Company, which was the perfect introduction to the coastal dining the area is known for.

Friday—my birthday—was easily one of the most memorable days of the trip. We started early, heading to the port to catch the ferry over to Martha’s Vineyard, which is an absolute must when visiting the Cape. Once we arrived, we rented bikes and took a scenic 15-minute ride to Oak Bluffs, a charming and colorful area that really captures the spirit of the island. Riding along the coast added such a fun and active element to the day, while still feeling relaxed and easy to navigate.

We made our way to Lookout Tavern, where we had some of the best lobster rolls, fresh, classic, and exactly what you’d hope for when you’re in New England. It was the perfect birthday lunch and one of those moments that just felt effortless and special at the same time. This kind of itinerary is ideal for clients who want a mix of light activity, local experiences, and memorable dining without feeling rushed.

Overall, this itinerary is a great example of how to balance relaxation with exploration. I’d recommend something similar for girls trips, birthdays, or even couples who want a laid-back but elevated coastal escape. It’s thoughtful without being overplanned, and every stop from spa to seaside dining adds something unique to the overall experience.

Need to know

When visiting Cape Cod, plan ahead for traffic from Boston it can get busy, especially in peak season. If you’re going to Martha’s Vineyard, book ferry tickets in advance.

Weather can be unpredictable, so bring layers, especially for mornings, evenings, and time by the water.

Having a car is helpful for getting around areas like Dennis, but biking is a great way to explore locally.

Overall, don’t overplan! Cape Cod is best enjoyed at a slower pace.
