Where to stay in Paris & Versailles

Unlock perks by contacting Kay to book your trip.

Whether you’re flying from New York, Philadelphia, Dallas, or even Los Angeles, a long weekend in Paris with a night in Versailles is the perfect besties' trip or mother-daughter escape any time of year (just skip August!).

Start by picking your hotel for our suggested three to four nights in Paris, and then add one night in Versailles at Airelles, Le Grand Contrôle. Here are a few of our favorite hotels and why.

Hôtel La Grand Mazarin

Located in our favorite location, in the heart of Le Marais. Outside the hotel doors, you have the best galleries, best shopping (vintage and boutique), and a genuine locals-live-here feel. Inside, you have the green interiors of our Pantone palette dreams, a hammam-inspired spa, the iconic Bar Lolo for cocktails, and a IYKYK speakeasy. It's ideal for those who want a lively, colorful Parisian stay in Le Marais.

  • Food within walking distance that we love: Hando Marais (sushi rolls), Miznon (my fave fave; no reservations), Bastille Market (Thursdays and Saturdays).

  • Favorite hot chocolate café nearby: Carette.

La Fantaisie

A true gem. We absolutely love (sorry kids) that it really feels more mature without kids running around (though they are allowed), and we love the street it's on—cute cafes, cheese shops, and happy hour energy.

  • Perk we love: There is a sauna, steam room, and plunge pools, use of which is complimentary when you book with me. And yes, it feels so good to sweat off inflammation after your flight.

  • Dinners and drinks we love within walking distance: Le Beaucé, Le Bon Georges, Bar Sur le Toit (at the hotel on the rooftop, with insane views and amazing cocktails).

La Réserve Paris

If your girls' trip vision is experiences within the Golden Triangle, Champs-Élysées, luxury designer shopping, and perhaps more first-time must-do landmarks in Paris, then we love a splurge stay for you at La Réserve Paris.

Airelles, Le Grand Contrôle

After three nights in Paris, we are absolutely obsessed with this splurge-worthy hotel (especially if you have never been to Versailles), because it's truly the ultimate fairytale experience. Located within the grounds of the Palace of Versailles, the hotel offers a one-of-a-kind experience: exclusive access to the palace and palace gardens before opening hours and before the crowds arrive.

  • Favorite aspects of the hotel: the décor is inspired (some from original collection) by its royal past and ties to Marie Antoinette herself (her favorite pink is throughout), giving every stay a sense of regal authenticity.

  • The breakfast (yes, included in your stay when you book with me) has the most incredible hot chocolate and also has the most next-level menu!

Need to know

When you book your vacation with me, you will be provided a custom city travel guide for shopping, food, art, and cultural suggestions. Here are some faves:

  • Reformation Pilates: The move for Reformer Pilates classes while in Paris. If you are staying at La Fantaisie, you will head to Studio Palais Royal; if you are staying at Hôtel La Grand Mazarin, you will go to Studio Marais.

  • Miam Miam: The best sandwich in the city and conveniently in La Marais. Lines are so long on weekends. There are veggie-friendly options. I suggest getting a hot and a cold sandwich if you want to bring one on your flight! Hot tip: Go when it opens at 9:30 am if you want to get one before your flight—it's wrapped and lasts well.

  • Hôtel de la Marine: A restored interior design and architectural gem. It's in the most touristy area, but it's not a core site for most. The building is worth the tour and time to visit just for the sheer beauty and history.

  • Monge: A wildly amazing pharmacy with products we won't find in America or online, plus the greatest sunscreen.

  • A private guided literature tour of Paris: We will arrange this for you with our local partner who has deep ties to the literary world and knows the back alley bookshops of Paris. If you aren't already in a book club, you will leave wanting to start one.
