Why we chose Hotel Esencia for our destination wedding
One of the biggest reasons we chose Hotel Esencia as our destination wedding venue was privacy. Unlike large resorts or high-volume wedding factories, Esencia feels residential and intimate. It allowed us to host our closest friends and family in a space that felt like a private beachfront estate rather than a commercial venue. For us, that intimacy mattered more than scale.
We were also drawn to the location. Xpu-Ha Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in the Riviera Maya—wide, calm, and far less crowded than Tulum or Playa del Carmen. This meant our guests could truly relax, enjoy the beach, and feel immersed in nature throughout the wedding weekend. Beach conditions were consistently beautiful, which is a huge consideration when planning a beachfront wedding in Mexico.

Another deciding factor was the strength of the on-site wedding coordination team. I chose not to hire an external wedding planner, and this is where Hotel Esencia truly shines. Karla and Karina, the on-site coordinators, supported us with such care, organization, and professionalism that I never once felt overwhelmed. From the early planning stages to the final moments of our celebration, every detail was handled seamlessly. Their ability to execute a full destination wedding without the need for an outside planner was a major reason we felt confident choosing Esencia.

We celebrated our wedding in November 2025 with 35 guests, and the entire weekend exceeded every expectation. Planning felt collaborative and personal rather than transactional. The hotel’s preferred vendors were exceptional, which simplified decision-making and ensured a cohesive, elevated experience across every event.

Even after the wedding, our guests continued to talk about how special the property felt. What stood out most was how effortless everything felt. Even while hosting a wedding, the property never felt crowded or chaotic. Guests who weren’t participating in events could still enjoy complete peace and privacy, which is incredibly rare for destination wedding venues.
