Pedras do Mar Resort and Spa offers stunning views of the Atlantic and is situated 30 min from the airport and between the volcanic west and the geothermal east. Spend your first day hiking Sete Cidades, where you can enjoy the blue and green volcanic lakes. The best views are from Vista de Rei and Miradouro da Grota do Inferno. Quinta dos Sabores, a farm-to-table restaurant in a converted barn, brings you a delicious multi course meal that changes based on what’s available.

After a day of hiking, soak in one of the hot springs and enjoy tea on the plantation. Terra Nostra Park is famous for its iron-rich thermal botanical gardens and Caldeira Velha Environmental Interpretation Centre has hiking trails, waterfalls, and geothermal springs to enjoy. After a good soak, enjoy a cup of tea at Gorreana Tea Factory, meander through the fields of tea plants, and tour the working factory. Enjoy an amazing steak dinner at Restaurante da Associacao Agricola. For the local specialty, Cozido das Furnas, the locals go to Caldeiras & Vulcões restaurante bar.
