My Arctic adventure aboard Ponant’s Le Lyrial with Abercrombie & Kent was nothing short of magical. Combining jaw-dropping landscapes, unforgettable wildlife encounters and the perfect touch of luxury. From the moment I stepped on board, I knew I was in for something special. The sleek design, panoramic windows and warm hospitality made it easy to settle in and get excited for the journey ahead.
Waking up each morning to icebergs drifting by and golden Arctic light was a dream come true. I spent hours on the observation deck spotting polar bears, seals lounging on ice floes, and even whales breaching nearby — it was like a front-row seat to nature’s best show! Each day brought new adventures, from gliding through icy waters on zodiac boats to hiking remote islands and marveling at the resilient Arctic flora.

Back on board, the experience was equally indulgent. The meals were next-level — think gourmet dining with flavors inspired by the region, paired with impeccable service. Evenings were filled with fascinating lectures by naturalists, lively entertainment and great conversations with fellow travelers. And after a day of exploring, the spa was the perfect escape to unwind and rejuvenate — those treatments were a lifesaver!
The journey took us to incredible destinations like Svalbard, where massive glaciers and dramatic fjords stole the show, and Greenland, with its charming villages and untouched tundra. Each stop was unique, offering a mix of adventure and tranquility that made every moment memorable.
As the voyage wrapped up, I couldn’t help but feel grateful for the opportunity to witness the Arctic’s breathtaking beauty and wildlife up close. Abercrombie & Kent and Ponant truly knocked it out of the park, delivering a seamless, luxurious and transformative experience. I came home with a full heart, countless memories and an even deeper appreciation for this stunning region.

For first-time cruisers, it’s essential to take advantage of the onboard naturalists who offer fascinating insights into the region’s unique ecosystem. Must-do activities include Zodiac tours to get up close to glaciers and icebergs, hikes on remote islands and, if traveling in late summer, witnessing the Northern Lights.
