Aruba Private Tour with Chogogo Aruba
Curator’s statement

Our family went on a Carnival Horizon cruise in December 2025 to Aruba, Bonaire, and Curaçao. Our first stop was in Aruba, where we needed to find an accessible tour suitable for my mother-in-law's wheelchair. We found the Chogogo Aruba party bus.

Chogogo emphasizes its commitment to accessibility, offering wheelchair-accessible vehicles and even amphibious beach wheelchairs for rent. This became the deciding factor in choosing them as our private tour operator, and it resulted in the most exceptional tour experience of our cruise.

Happy travelers

We saw that they had the option of a create-your-own private island tour. This enabled us to tailor our itinerary, selecting preferred landmarks, beaches, and attractions. We visited the Royal Aruba Aloe Factory and Museum, beaches, Alto Vista Chapel, California Lighthouse, and several other sights of interest.

The Royal Aruba Aloe Factory and Museum was truly educational. Outside, we saw the Aruba aloe plantings and learned how the plant has been integral to the island's culture and economy for over a century. Inside, we had a factory tour that showed us how the plants are turned into products. The store had many aloe-based health products, like a lidocaine gel for pain relief. I bought some for my arthritis.

The Alto Vista Chapel is the site of the oldest Roman Catholic church in Aruba. It is located on a scenic hilltop and is wheelchair accessible. The winding road leading to the chapel is lined with white crosses, representing the Stations of the Cross, which adds to its spiritual atmosphere.

The California Lighthouse is a prominent landmark located on the northwestern tip of Aruba. It's a popular tourist attraction offering breathtaking panoramic views of the island's coastline, including the rugged shores, turquoise waters, and vast expanse of the Caribbean Sea. It's named after the British steamship S.S. California, which, tragically, sank off the coast of Aruba in 1891, highlighting the need for a guiding light in the area.

We visited other stops around Oranjestad, the capital city of Aruba, on our way back to the Carnival Horizon. Our driver was fun and engaging. She was very knowledgeable about the history, culture, and customs of Aruba. The wheelchair lift made the bus access and tour enjoyable for my mother-in-law. We even had an open-air bus that brought in the ocean breeze.
