Curator’s statement
The Beach Club is rare. It's right in town but also right on a huge, sandy beach. Most places are one or the other. Parksville is a small town, but it's a cute one—worth a wander. You get the laid-back West Coast feel and a good beach, yet still find yourself walking to sushi for dinner.

Parksville Beach is the story here. It's vast, sandy, and, at low tide, it stretches so far it almost doesn't look real. For kids between roughly 4 and 12, it's a perfect getaway. We went over spring break with two families and three kids aged 5 and 9. They spent hours out on the beach and at the nearby park. The beach never felt crowded, and the weather was beautiful.
The oceanfront rooms in the main building are the reason to book this property. Sliding glass doors open directly onto the beach. The view is exceptional, and having direct access is a game changer with kids—we could see them from the patio! The price point for what you're getting is great. Dining on site is convenient if you don't want to move after a long beach day, and the beachfront patio is beautiful.
One thing worth knowing before you book: The resort is spread out, and room quality varies significantly across the property. Not all rooms deliver the same experience. Book the oceanfront rooms in the main building and don't compromise on that. Request it specifically when you book.

Need to know
Spring break and school holidays book up fast. If you're targeting a holiday weekend, plan well ahead.
The drive from Victoria is under two hours—easy and straightforward with kids in the car.
Parksville Beach at low tide is extraordinary for young children. Check the tide schedule before you go and plan your morning around it.
Parksville is a small town—it's charming enough for a wander and you'll find what you need. The real draw to this area is the surrounding nature.
