First impressions & resort overview
ECPM opened on February 12, 2025, so everything still feels fresh, new, and modern. The resort has 503 rooms/suites, giving a good balance between being sizable but not overwhelming.
What’s nice: Many room categories, including Excellence Club suites, swim-up/ private-pool or rooftop-terrace options, a versatile mix depending on what kind of vacation you want.
In short: ECPM feels like a newly built, thoughtfully designed resort for grown-ups who value comfort, flexibility, and a fresh vibe.
Food, drinks & dining Scene: A culinary playground
Food lovers, rejoice: this resort delivers lots of variety. There are 16 restaurants and 16 bars/lounges on property. From poolside bars and beachfront lounges to full à la carte spots and full 24-hour room service—plenty of choices for whatever you’re craving. You’ll find cuisine across styles and moods: light snacks at the beach or pool, relaxed lunches, gourmet dinners, great for both casual vacationers and those wanting something more upscale.
For an all-inclusive, the breadth and flexibility of dining and drink options already put ECPM on the map for me.

Rooms & “Excellence Club”: Suite variety & perks
ECPM does an excellent job offering something for almost every kind of traveler.
Suites range from swim-up or private-pool rooms to rooftop-terrace suites with ocean or partial-ocean views, plenty of options depending on vibe, budget, and travel style.
The “Excellence Club” upgrade is worth considering if you enjoy extra comfort: private check-in/out, a VIP lounge, upgraded minibar & room-service menu, private pool/beach areas, premium toiletries, welcome amenities, and more.
For a newer resort, the rooms come with good finishing touches: marble bathrooms, rain-showers, and suites laid out to maximize comfort and privacy.
If I were you and wanted a treat-yourself kind of stay, I’d lean toward an Excellence-Club swim-up or rooftop suite.
Resort vibe & what it feels like to stay there
Because ECPM is new, it still has that fresh-opening energy: clean design, modern architecture, well-laid-out grounds and amenities. The layout feels more compact and navigable compared to older mega-resorts, which means less “marathon walks,” and more ease getting around. So whether you want to lounge in your swim-up suite, stroll to a beach bar with a drink, or dip into a rooftop pool, everything feels close, easy, and laid-back.
Because of that, ECPM is ideal for: couples, honeymooners, small friend groups, or anyone who values ease, comfort, and a classy vibe over big-resort chaos.

Who I’d recommend Excellence Coral Playa Mujeres for
Book ECPM if you want:
A brand-new, modern all-inclusive resort with a fresh look and feel. Variety in rooms (swim-up, rooftop, club), in dining (16 restaurants/bars), and in vacation style (relaxed, boutique, easy-going).
Adult-only calm, a more laid-back, grown-up resort experience, without noisy spring-break energy.
Flexibility: whether you want pool-lounging, tapas at the bar, late-night room service, or just chill, sun, sea, and calm.
Not ideal if you want major nightlife or a super-crowded party vibe, this one leans more toward chill, comfort, and modern luxury.
Need to know
Excellence Coral Playa Mujeres is one of those resorts that feels like the start of something great. It’s fresh, it’s thoughtful, and it gives you options—whether you’re lounging by a swim-up pool, sipping cocktails at sunset, or sleeping in a rooftop suite after a dinner out.
If you want a smooth, relaxing, adults-only getaway with good food, flexible vibes, and a modern feel, this one’s a strong contender.
