Grand Hyatt Singapore Review: Newly Renovated Luxury Oasis on Orchard Road

I stayed at the Grand Hyatt Singapore for one week in May 2026, and overall it was an excellent base for exploring the city, especially for travelers who want to stay in the heart of Orchard Road with easy access to shopping, dining, and transportation.

Location: One of the best addresses in Singapore

The hotel is located directly on Orchard Road, Singapore’s premier shopping and lifestyle district. You’re surrounded by countless malls, luxury boutiques, restaurants, cafés, and food options, and the hotel is also conveniently connected to the MRT (Singapore’s subway system), making it incredibly easy to get around the city.

The location is one of the hotel’s biggest strengths. Singapore is already a very walkable city, and staying here made it easy to explore neighborhoods like Marina Bay, Chinatown, and Tiong Bahru while still returning to a central, convenient home base.

Booking experience and elite benefits

I booked through Hyatt Privé and also applied a Hyatt Guest of Honor award, which made the stay especially valuable.

Benefits included:

• A $100 hotel credit

I originally booked a Deluxe King Room but was upgraded to a very spacious Grand Suite.

The room: Spacious, modern, and thoughtfully designed

The recently renovated rooms feel fresh, modern, and extremely well designed. My Grand Suite was exceptionally spacious by Singapore standards and featured a calming contemporary aesthetic with warm finishes and subtle luxury touches throughout.

The room was very well equipped with:

• Complimentary bottled water

• Espresso machine and coffee setup

• Excellent lighting and power outlets

• Comfortable seating areas

• A gorgeous marble bathroom

• High-quality amenities

Housekeeping was outstanding during the stay, including evening turndown service each night. The attention to detail really elevated the overall experience.

Hotel design and facilities

The Grand Hyatt recently completed a major multi-year renovation and the refreshed design feels beautiful and cohesive. Despite being a very large hotel, the property incorporates a significant amount of greenery and landscaping throughout, giving it the feel of an urban oasis in the middle of the city.

The hotel is expansive, so expect a large-scale property with many rooms and guests. Even so, the design helps the space feel relaxing rather than overly corporate.

Facilities include:

• Multiple outdoor pools

• A large spa

• Several restaurants and bars

• A very impressive fitness center

The gym was one of the better hotel gyms I’ve seen recently. It is large, modern, and equipped with high-end equipment, although it can get quite busy during peak hours.

Breakfast at StraitsKitchen: A highlight of the stay

Breakfast at StraitsKitchen was genuinely one of the highlights of the trip and easily among the best hotel breakfast buffets I’ve experienced in Singapore.

The selection was incredibly extensive, covering nearly every cuisine imaginable:

• Singaporean specialties

• Chinese dishes

• Indian and Malaysian options

• Western breakfast staples

• Fresh noodle stations

• Egg station

• Tropical fruits and fresh juices

The quality and variety were consistently excellent throughout the stay. If breakfast is important to you, this property absolutely delivers.

Grand Club Lounge

The Grand Club Lounge was another standout feature of the hotel.

The lounge itself is beautifully designed and feels polished, comfortable, and upscale without being overly formal. The staff here were especially warm, professional, and attentive throughout the stay.

One of the biggest conveniences was being able to check in and check out directly from the lounge.

The lounge offerings included:

• Daily breakfast

• Evening cocktails and happy hour

• Light food and snacks throughout the day

• Comfortable seating areas for relaxing or working

Happy hour was particularly popular and quite lively in the evenings.

Spa experience

I used my $100 Hyatt Privé credit toward a two-hour massage at the spa.

Unfortunately, this ended up being the one disappointing part of the stay. During the treatment, there was ongoing loud construction noise coming from an adjacent area for over an hour, which significantly impacted the experience and made it difficult to relax.

The staff acknowledged the issue, and were apologetic, but there was ultimately little they could do at the time. Because of this, I would currently recommend confirming that nearby renovation work has fully concluded before booking spa treatments.

Final thoughts

Overall, I really enjoyed my stay at the Grand Hyatt Singapore. The combination of its unbeatable Orchard Road location, beautifully renovated rooms, excellent breakfast, strong club lounge, and thoughtful design makes it a very compelling option in Singapore.

While the property is large and still appears to be completing some final renovation-related work, the overall experience felt polished, modern, and comfortable.

I would especially recommend this hotel for:

• Travelers who prioritize location and convenience
