My Favorite London Hotels
Curator’s statement

London’s luxury hotel scene is robust, featuring well over 100 five-star hotels throughout the city. I recently had the opportunity to visit a dozen of them. Here are three of my favorites, why I love them, and the type of client they may work best for.

The Beaumont Mayfair

For clients seeking timeless glamour and Art Deco sophistication, The Beaumont Mayfair is unparalleled. From the moment you enter, the hotel’s design makes an impression. Bold Art Deco flourishes, rich textures, and subtle nods to Mayfair’s storied past create an atmosphere that is both elegant and immersive. The rooms are luxurious and supremely comfortable, featuring plush beds (some of the best I've ever slept in) and stylish details that make it hard to leave every morning.

Guests can enjoy the newly renovated spa or unwind in the hotel’s bars and dining venues, including Rosi’s, which offers exceptional cuisine in a stylish yet relaxed setting (wall murals are playful and beautiful to dine next to). The Beaumont’s warm and attentive staff elevate the experience, ensuring every stay feels personalized.

Rosi’s at the Beaumont

This hotel is perfect for travelers who want classic London luxury with an artistic, design-forward flair, ideal for couples, leisure travelers, or anyone looking to indulge in style. They cater especially well to families, offering children a welcome gift that they can select from a toy chest shaped like one of London's famed red buses.

The Goring

For those drawn to heritage, personal charm, and distinctly British character, The Goring offers an experience steeped in history and personality. This family-owned hotel embodies traditional elegance, from its hand-painted wallpapers to its curated interiors that celebrate classic British aesthetics.

Dining at The Goring is a standout experience, with lunch and afternoon tea both executed with precision and care. Guests delight in its playful touches, such as the hotel’s resident sheep, Barbara, which adds a whimsical charm and makes an appearance in every room. Its royal connection—Princess Catherine and her family stayed here before her wedding—underscores the hotel’s reputation for discretion, warmth, and excellence. The service is warm and welcoming, providing a personal touch that makes each guest feel truly valued.

The Goring is ideal for clients who appreciate history, British tradition, and a hotel that combines elegance with intimate, story-filled spaces. There is also a lovely private garden, providing ample space for families with kids to comfortably enjoy good weather.

The Newman

For travelers seeking a modern, design-forward experience with a strong local identity, The Newman in Fitzrovia is exceptional. Opened just weeks before my visit, the hotel perfectly blends contemporary luxury with thoughtful nods to its neighborhood’s history. Subtle references to the Cunard family and the maritime heritage of Fitzrovia are reflected in fabrics, tiles, and high-resolution photographs of local artists throughout the property, creating a sense of place that feels personal yet refined.

High design at The Newman

Rooms are exceptionally comfortable, with pillow menus, in-room speakers (even in bathrooms), and indulgent showers that include spa-like features. The amenities are extensive, including a full spa with hydrotherapy pools, ice rooms, and saunas, plus a fitness studio offering multiple daily classes with mats, Pilates equipment, and even a salt wall.

The presidential suite exemplifies the hotel’s attention to detail, offering private cold plunge pools, a sauna on the terrace, and breathtaking views, making it ideal for families, girls’ trips, or high-end leisure travelers who value both style and functionality.

The food and beverage program is equally impressive, with a signature brasserie and a swanky cocktail bar that promise some of the most sought-after drinks in the neighborhood.

Honorable mention: The Chancery Rosewood

One other notable new opening that I visited is Rosewood's Chancery. This hotel screams Rosewood in its simple, sophisticated design. However, for me, its noteworthy feature is not its luxury aesthetic, but the ability to check in or out at any time, making it ideal for clients arriving in the morning via redeye flight from the U.S.

Need to know

London’s luxury hotels can cater to a spectrum of tastes. The Beaumont delivers timeless elegance and Art Deco allure. The Goring offers British heritage, intimate charm, and royal pedigree. The Newman provides modern design, local storytelling, and high-concept wellness amenities.
