Where to Stay in Cabo: Comparing 7 Luxury Resorts

If I could only recommend one resort to the widest range of clients, it would probably be Chileno Bay. From my personal experience staying on site, it does almost everything exceptionally well. The contemporary design feels polished without being trendy, the restaurants consistently impressed me, and the location on one of Cabo’s swimmable beaches makes it just as appealing for families as it is for couples. After spending a few days here, it felt like the property with the fewest compromises.

Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal

The Waldorf Astoria was my biggest surprise of the trip. I’d heard plenty about the property before visiting, but I wasn’t prepared for just how dramatic the setting would be. Perched along the cliffs overlooking the Pacific, the views are unlike anything else I saw in Cabo. Every room includes a private plunge pool, and the spa was one of the highlights of my trip.

Best for: Couples, honeymooners, and travelers who want an unforgettable setting paired with exceptional service.

Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal

Esperanza, Auberge Resorts Collection

Esperanza has a different pace than many of Cabo’s larger resorts. The atmosphere feels relaxed, the cliffside setting is beautiful, and it’s home to Cabo’s only private beach, which gives it a sense of exclusivity without feeling formal.

Best for: Travelers looking for a laid-back luxury escape.

The Cape, A Thompson Hotel

The Cape impressed me most for the value it delivers. The views of El Arco are spectacular, especially at golden hour, and the energy here is noticeably livelier than at many of Cabo’s traditional luxury resorts. It strikes a great balance between five-star accommodations and a social atmosphere, all at a more approachable price point.

Best for: Couples and groups looking for sweeping views, vibrant energy, and excellent value.

Four Seasons Resort Cabo del Sol

Four Seasons Cabo del Sol feels undeniably romantic, but it also has a social side. The grounds are stunning, and the atmosphere feels lively without ever becoming crowded. I was also surprised by just how beautiful the property is in person. Guests can easily head over to the neighboring Park Hyatt, which adds another excellent option for dining and cocktails.

Best for: Couples who want a romantic getaway without sacrificing energy or variety.

Four Seasons Resort Cabo Del Sol

Rosewood Las Ventanas al Paraíso

Lunch at Las Ventanas ended up being one of my favorite meals of the trip. Sitting by the water, it was easy to understand why this property has remained one of Cabo’s luxury icons. The atmosphere is peaceful, the service feels genuinely personal, and the entire resort has an understated elegance that never feels overdone.

Best for: Travelers who prioritize dining, privacy, and a serene atmosphere.

Las Ventanas al Paraiso, A Rosewood Resort

One&Only Palmilla

One&Only Palmilla defines quiet luxury. While some luxury resorts are designed to impress at every turn, Palmilla takes a quieter approach. There’s a strong sense of place throughout the property, and the experience feels refined rather than flashy. It was one of the easiest places to picture completely unplugging for a few days.

Best for: Travelers looking for timeless elegance and a refined, understated escape.

Bonus: Four Seasons Resort Los Cabos at Costa Palmas

Although it’s located on the East Cape rather than the main Cabo corridor, Four Seasons Costa Palmas is worth considering if spending time in the water is high on your priority list. The beach is one of the longest and most swimmable in the region, creating a completely different feel from many of Cabo’s Pacific-facing resorts. One of my favorite perks for clients booking this property is complimentary round-trip airport transfers from SJD, making the experience feel seamless from the moment you arrive.

Best for: Travelers who want expansive beaches, calm water, and a quieter side of Los Cabos.
