Things to do in Las Vegas

Las Vegas is known for its glitz, glamour, and world-famous nightlife—but there’s so much more to love beyond the casinos. For us, one of the most romantic moments was taking a gondola ride at The Venetian right before our wedding. It was the perfect way to slow down, soak in the lights of the Strip, and set the mood for such a special day.

Of course, Vegas is a city of endless experiences. One of my favorite memories was joining a ghost tour led by our amazing guide, Dave, who shared the darker—and surprisingly spooky—history of the “City of Lights.” And for a night full of laughter (and a little chaos), my bachelorette party at Magic Mike Live inside the Sahara Hotel was unforgettable—especially when my grandma got pulled on stage for a “special” dance that had the whole crowd howling.

The bar scene in Vegas is just as iconic as its shows, and our favorite stop was Coyote Ugly at the New York-New York Hotel. The energy was high, the music was loud, and the memories—well, some of them might be a little blurry, but we had an absolute blast. It’s the perfect place to let loose and dance the night away for anyone looking to keep the Vegas party going long after sunset.

For those wanting to explore beyond the Strip, AREA15 is a must-visit. Between the immersive art, shopping, and the wild experience that is Omega Mart, it’s like stepping into another world—a total sensory overload in the best way.

Another incredible off-the-strip experience is The Sphere Las Vegas. It’s a stunning example of state-of-the-art technology, lighting up the skyline with massive, ever-changing visuals that are mesmerizing to watch from certain spots on the Strip. Inside, it hosts world-class concerts and immersive shows that make it one of Vegas’ newest and most breathtaking attractions.

Places to eat & drink in Las Vegas

Las Vegas is truly a foodie’s dream—whether you’re splurging on a fine dining experience or grabbing a quick bite between adventures, there’s something for every craving and every budget.

Start your day off right at Eggslut, a beloved breakfast spot that’s both budget-friendly and absolutely delicious (trust me, the sandwiches live up to the hype). For a fun, themed dining experience, Flights Restaurant serves up a creative menu where everything—from drinks to dishes—comes in threes, perfect for sharing or trying a little bit of everything.

If you’re in the mood for Italian, Balla Italian Soul in the Sahara brings a warm, modern twist to classic comfort food—great for a mid-range dinner that feels a little fancy but not over the top. Over at Café Hollywood inside Planet Hollywood, you’ll find casual American classics and all-day dining surrounded by fun décor that nods to movie magic.

For a truly unforgettable night out, Superfrico at The Cosmopolitan is part dinner, part show—think psychedelic Italian food meets Vegas flair.

Mon Ami Gabi at the Paris Hotel is perfect for a romantic meal with a view of the Bellagio fountains, and Spago by Wolfgang Puck (inside the Bellagio itself) is ideal if you want to go all-out on a luxury dining experience.

If you’re chasing that upscale trendy vibe, Catch and Toca Madera in the Aria are both stunning spots for cocktails, modern bites, and a bit of that glamorous Vegas energy. And finally, for a fun, group-friendly meal that’s still mid-range on price, Gen Korean BBQ House is a must. It’s interactive, lively, and the food is seriously good—perfect for families, friend groups, or anyone who loves all-you-can-eat Korean BBQ.

Need to know

Las Vegas might look walkable on a map, but don’t be fooled—everything is much bigger in person. What seems like one block can feel more like five, thanks to construction, massive hotels, and long walkways, so plan for extra time to get places. Rideshares are easy to find but pricey, and while there’s a small metro line along part of the Strip, it doesn’t cover the full stretch.

Fashion in Vegas is more casual than the glitzy image you might expect—so wear what makes you comfortable and don’t stress about being overdressed.

For the heat (which can get intense, especially in summer and early fall), pack smart! Bring a refillable water bottle with a strap or carrier so you can keep it on you at all times, and clip on a small travel lotion to fight that desert dryness. It’s the perfect little setup to stay cool, hydrated, and hands-free while exploring.

Vegas is lively year-round, but the best times to visit are spring (March–May) and fall (September–November) when the weather is warm without being scorching. Summer brings extreme heat and monsoon storms, while winter nights can be surprisingly chilly. Keep in mind that holidays and major events—like New Year’s Eve or the F1 Grand Prix—can cause parts of the Strip to shut down for safety and festivities, so plan your travel days accordingly if you don’t want to get caught in the crowds.
