Things to do in Ireland

Enjoying Giant's Causeway
Dublin
Dublin is always the perfect place to begin. Whether it's your first visit or your fifth, don't miss the Guinness Storehouse Brewery, where you can learn all about the history of Guinness, Ireland's most iconic beer. One of my favorite spots in the city is St. Stephen's Green. It's the perfect place to slow down, take a stroll, and soak in the charm of Dublin.
When it comes to dining, one experience stands above the rest: The Merry Ploughboy. Not only will you enjoy some of the best Irish stew you'll ever have, but you'll also be treated to authentic Irish music, dancing, and hospitality that makes for an unforgettable evening. I also highly recommend Madigan's and Murray's Pub, both offering wonderful food and that warm Irish welcome.
The must-see Cliffs of Moher
This should be on everyone's bucket list when visiting Ireland. The mind-blowing Cliffs of Moher are spectacular to experience.
The Giant's Causeway & Northern Ireland
The Giant's Causeway, located in Northern Ireland, is absolutely unforgettable—one of the most unique natural wonders I've ever seen. Photos simply don't do it justice. Be sure to get the Butler's Chocolates in the gift shop. The hazelnut is delicious.
If you have time to venture into the countryside, make your way to the Crosskeys Inn, located in Toomebridge, County Antrim, Northern Ireland. It is believed to be Ireland's oldest thatched pub. The owners welcomed us like family, the live entertainment was fantastic, and the home-cooked meal prepared by the family made the evening even more memorable. Experiences like this are what make Ireland so special.
Blarney Castle
Blarney Castle is a must for history lovers. Be sure to climb the steps to the top of Blarney Castle and kiss the stone. The legend of kissing the Blarney stone is that it imparts the "gift of gab."
Galway
A visit to Galway is wonderful, too. I stayed at the Galway Bay Hotel. It's located across the street with a beautiful view of the Atlantic Ocean. The city of Galway is a charming seaside town. Rich in history and originated as a small fishing village.
Belfast
Belfast is a fascinating city filled with history, culture, and a beautiful waterfront. One of my favorite memories was simply walking its streets and enjoying the atmosphere. The Titanic Belfast is a must-do while visiting this city. The museum is located exactly where the famous Titanic ship was built. It was a very educational experience.
Killarney
Can't forget to mention, Killarney! Be sure to spend time exploring the charming town of Killarney. A great place to stroll the streets, shop, and dine. Killarney National Park is located nearby and is a great starting point to take a drive through the 111-mile "Ring of Kerry."
Places to eat & drink in Ireland

The Dirty Onion & Yardbird Pub
Dublin
At the Merry Ploughboy, not only will you enjoy some of the best Irish stew you'll ever have, but you'll also be treated to authentic Irish music, dancing, and hospitality that makes for an unforgettable evening.
Madigan's is another great place that I stopped in as I was walking along O'Connell Street. Had the best seafood stew with homemade soda bread and Irish butter.
One other restaurant absolutely worth mentioning is Murray's Bar & Grill. This is also located on O'Connell Street. This was the best food I had in all of all the places we visited in Ireland. Murray's is a traditional Irish pub, and the atmosphere was great too. Had the roast of the day for lunch, which was turkey with mashed potatoes, root vegetables, and gravy. This was the best meal ever. Not sure if it was because it was the first meal I had after my long overnight flight. I loved it so much that I ended up going back for dinner and had the half roast chicken with fries and a small side Caesar salad. This can easily be shared with two people!
Other cities
Galway: While on our tour, I had read reviews about Dough Bros. and decided to give it a try. The pizza was delicious and the staff was super friendly.
Killarney: Porterhouse Steakhouse did not disappoint.
Belfast: The Dirty Onion was a great stop for lunch.
The Crosskeys Inn: The owners welcomed us like family, the live entertainment was fantastic, and the home-cooked meal prepared by the family made the evening even more memorable.
Need to know
Ireland has become one of those places that keeps calling me back. I've been fortunate enough to visit several times, and with another trip just around the corner, I can honestly say I've explored nearly every corner of the Emerald Isle. No matter how many times I return, it never loses its magic. This last visit to Ireland, I went on a solo trip for a Northern Ireland tour, and I met some of the kindest people, formed lasting friendships, and was reminded that the true heart of Ireland is its people. Their warmth, kindness, and genuine hospitality leave a lasting impression.
Ireland offers the perfect balance of rugged natural beauty, rich history, lively cities, charming villages, and unforgettable luxury experiences. It's a destination that feels both adventurous and welcoming, no matter how many times you visit. Counting down the days until next year's trip back to Ireland and introducing my family to this extraordinary island that has captured my heart. Until then... sláinte to the next adventure! Stay tuned for another Ireland review after this unforgettable journey.
