Advisor - Tiny Traveler Takes London
Curator’s statement

We spent several days in London with our 4-year-old and we all absolutely loved the city. We enjoyed lots of family activities while still introducing her to local and historical sites. From a dinosaur-themed high tea, to London landmarks from a double-decker bus with Peppa Pig narrating, to playtime at Princess Diana’s playground in Kensington Gardens, and a visit to the Science Museum—we had a blast. We also made great use of the Tube and explored the city and restaurants fully.

Things to do in London

'Smoke' pouring down from the marshmallow 'volcanoes', followed by excavating 'dino bones' from chocolate 'dirt.'

  • Jurassic Afternoon Tea at Apero, Ampersand Hotel: A playful, dinosaur-themed afternoon tea that delights a 4-year-old while still feeling like a proper London treat for parents.

  • Brigit’s Bakery Peppa Pig Double-Decker Bus Tour: A joyful sightseeing adventure where your little one is fully entertained by Peppa Pig while parents enjoy London’s highlights from the top deck. There’s even a bathroom on board the bus—a must for little ones!

  • Science Museum: A must-do family stop with hands-on exhibits and interactive galleries that spark curiosity for a 4-year-old and nostalgia for parents.

  • Princess Diana’s Playground, Kensington Gardens: An imaginative, pirate-themed playground set in beautiful gardens where your child can run free while parents relax nearby.

  • Cocktails at The Ivy, King’s Road: A stylish yet welcoming spot where parents can enjoy a cocktail while still feeling comfortable bringing along a little one.

  • Covent Garden: A lively, walkable neighborhood filled with street performers, shops, and sweet treats that keeps both parents and a 4-year-old happily engaged.

Places to eat & drink in London

We enjoyed a delicious fish and chips and more at The Wellington.

  • Agora (Borough Market): Greek skewers and shareable plates ideal for a family to graze together.

  • Bancone (Covent Garden): Fantastic pasta that’s easy for kids and delicious for adults.

  • Bill's Covent Garden Restaurant: Classic British menu with relaxed vibes, perfect for brunch or dinner together.

  • Bill's Soho Restaurant / Bill's Victoria Restaurant: Same family-friendly chain in multiple central spots with familiar favorites.

  • Giraffe: Fun global comfort food with a kids’ menu and great round-the-Thames views near attractions.

  • Wahaca Covent Garden: Colorful Mexican food where kids can try tacos and small plates (and parents love the flavors).

  • Mother Mash Carnaby: Cozy British comfort food (think mash and sausages) that’s easy to share and kid-approachable.

Need to know

Traveling through a city (or anywhere) with a toddler can have its challenges, but London was a breeze. The public transportation, walkability, amazing parks, playgrounds, family-friendly activities, and museums made it easy to find fun everywhere we went. (for our little one and for the adults, too!)
