Day 1: Arrival & tuk tuk adventure

Welcome to Bangkok! After settling into the ultra-luxe Rosewood Bangkok, kick off your family adventure with a thrilling evening tuk tuk street food tour. Zip through the city streets to sample authentic local dishes, an experience that is both exciting for the kids and a culinary delight for adults. It is the perfect, high-energy introduction to the sights, sounds, and flavors of the Thai capital.

Day 2: Markets on water & rails

Dive deep into local culture with a private tour of the famous floating and railway markets. Hop aboard a motorboat to navigate the winding canals where vendors sell goods directly from their vessels, followed by a visit to the unique market located directly on active train tracks. This immersive day offers fascinating photo opportunities and a chance to witness traditional Thai commerce in action.

Day 3: Escape to Koh Samui

Trade the city skyline for island paradise as you take a short flight to Koh Samui and check into the stunning Banyan Tree resort. Spend the afternoon unwinding in your private villa or exploring the resort's family-friendly beach facilities to recover from your travels. The resort offers a seamless blend of luxury and nature, providing the perfect backdrop for the next leg of your relaxation.

Day 5: Angthong National Marine Park

Embark on a spectacular boat excursion to the Angthong National Marine Park, an archipelago of 42 islands featuring limestone mountains and emerald waters. This active day includes snorkeling and diving opportunities for the whole family, exploring vibrant coral reefs and hidden lagoons. Cap off the evening with a memorable dinner accompanied by a mesmerizing fire twirling show, a big hit with children.

Day 6: Culinary culture

Immerse yourself in Thai flavors with a hands-on Thai cooking class. This interactive experience allows the family to learn the secrets of local ingredients and prepare classic dishes together. It is a fun, educational activity that lets you bring a taste of Thailand home with you.

Day 7: Into the jungle & all aboard

Khao Yai is also home to Thailand's wine region

Bid farewell to the beach as you fly back to the mainland and transfer to the lush mountains of Khao Yai, where you will check into the imaginative InterContinental Khao Yai Resort. Designed by Bill Bensley, this property transports you back to the golden age of rail travel, with a reception area built as a train station and suites housed in up-cycled heritage railcars. Spend your first evening exploring the Swan Lake grounds, feeding the koi fish, or letting the kids play at the Planet Trekkers club located inside a converted train carriage.

Day 8: Khao Yai National Park

Today is dedicated to exploring the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Khao Yai National Park on a private tour. Keep your eyes peeled for wild elephants, gibbons, and hornbills as you trek through one of Thailand’s oldest rainforests. After your jungle adventure, return to the resort to relax by the pool or enjoy a family dinner at Somying’s Kitchen, a farm-to-table restaurant that celebrates local ingredients in a retro diner setting.

Day 9: Return to Bangkok

Head to one of the many night markets for dinner and shopping

Enjoy a leisurely morning—perhaps with breakfast on the outdoor terrace overlooking the lakes—before checking out of your railcar retreat. Take a private transfer back to Bangkok for your final night at the Conrad Bangkok. Located on Wireless Road, this hotel places you in the heart of the city's shopping and diplomatic district, perfect for grabbing last-minute souvenirs and enjoying a celebratory farewell dinner.

Need to know

Thailand is incredibly welcoming to children, but the heat can be intense; always plan outdoor activities for the morning and leave afternoons for pool time. For the temples and markets, dress modestly and wear comfortable slip-on shoes as you will take them off frequently. Finally, when visiting national parks like Angthong or Khao Yai, pack plenty of sunscreen, bug spray, and rash guards for the little ones.
