Trelawny is one of Jamaica’s best-kept secrets, a stretch of the north coast that blends calm turquoise waters with adventure-filled days. Staying at Ocean Eden Bay gave us the perfect balance of relaxation and discovery. Things to do in Trelawny & Montego Bay, Jamaica

Deep-sea fishing off Jamaica’s north coast delivers unforgettable catches like this one
Dunn’s River Falls: Jamaica’s most famous waterfall, where you can climb hand-in-hand up the natural limestone steps as water rushes around you. Bring water shoes and a waterproof phone case for the best experience.
Catamaran cruise and snorkeling: Spend a day on the water sailing the coastline, snorkeling coral reefs, and dancing to reggae with a rum punch in hand. It’s one of the most fun, carefree ways to see Jamaica from a different perspective.
Martha Brae River Rafting: Glide down a bamboo raft guided by a local captain. Friends told us the mud bath is incredible for your skin—we ran out of time to try it, but it’s at the top of our list for our next visit.
Chukka ATV safari: Bounce along trails that cut through jungle and open onto picture-perfect beaches. Expect to get muddy, laugh a lot, and see a wilder side of Jamaica.
Deep-sea fishing: Head out from Montego Bay for the chance to reel in wahoo, mahi-mahi, or marlin. Barrett caught an impressive fish, and it was one of the trip highlights, perfect for those who love a challenge.
Luminous Lagoon: A magical nighttime excursion where the water glows around you thanks to bioluminescent microorganisms. It feels otherworldly and is something you can only experience in a few places in the world.
Montego Bay Hip Strip: Stroll along Gloucester Avenue for shopping, local bars, and live reggae. It’s lively, colorful, and the perfect spot for people-watching.
Places to eat & drink in Trelawny & Montego Bay, Jamaica

Fresh lobster, ocean views, and a Red Stripe, Sharkie’s is Trelawny’s ultimate beachside indulgence
Scotchies: Legendary jerk chicken and pork, cooked over pimento wood for that smoky, spicy flavor. Don’t skip the festival bread and dipping sauces—they make the meal complete.
Sharkie’s Seafood: A casual, beachside favorite in Trelawny, where lobster and escovitch fish taste even better with the sea breeze. Order the grilled lobster and pair it with a cold Red Stripe—nothing says Jamaica quite like this experience.
Sugar Mill (at Half Moon): One of Jamaica’s most romantic fine-dining spots, offering elevated takes on Jamaican flavors. It’s a great choice for a special night out.
Rick’s Café, Negril: A must for the experience alone: cliff diving, live music, and spectacular sunsets. Even if you don’t dive, watching the pros jump while sipping a rum punch is unforgettable.
Pelican Grill: A Montego Bay institution known for hearty Jamaican comfort food. Great for trying local favorites like ackee and saltfish, or curry goat.
Ocean Eden Bay Lobster Nights: On certain evenings, the resort puts on lobster dinners that are as indulgent as they are delicious. It’s one of those meals that makes staying at the resort feel extra special.
