Curator’s statement
Cannes is one of the best places to begin a South of France girls’ trip—it’s glamorous, lively, and the perfect introduction to the Riviera lifestyle. It sets the tone for what’s to come, whether you’re continuing on to St. Tropez or heading toward Nice. What makes Cannes so special is how effortlessly it blends beach club luxury, walkable city energy, and iconic Riviera charm all in one place. It’s the kind of destination where your trip instantly shifts into vacation mode—long lunches, rosé-filled afternoons, and sunset walks along the Croisette.

Things to do in Cannes

The sunset view over the harbor in Old Town
Relax at the beach clubs
Beach clubs are the heartbeat of a girls’ trip in Cannes—think long lunches, music in the background, and an all-day rosé flow. Some of the best include Lucia Cannes, Hyde Beach Club, and Carlton Beach Club, each offering a slightly different version of Riviera glamour. This is where you settle in for the day with your group and fully lean into the “South of France summer” experience.
Explore Le Suquet (Old Town Cannes)
Le Suquet is a great contrast to the beach club scene and perfect for a slower girls’ moment in between reservations. Wander the cobblestone streets, pop into small cafés, and take in panoramic views over the harbor. It’s especially beautiful at golden hour before heading to dinner.
Tip: One of our favorite dinners was in Old Town called Tredici, and no reservations were needed.
Boat day to the Îles de Lérins
A boat day is a must on a girls’ trip to Cannes. The Îles de Lérins offer crystal-clear water, low-key beaches, and a peaceful escape from the energy of the mainland. It’s the perfect group activity for a relaxed morning or afternoon on the water.
Take a private wine tour to Provence
A private wine tour to Provence is a perfect girls’ day activity from Cannes and an amazing way to experience the region beyond the coast. Spend the day driving through scenic countryside, visiting local vineyards, and tasting some of the best rosé in the world right where it’s produced. It’s relaxed, beautiful, and a great “in-between beach days” experience.
Shopping on Rue d’Antibes
Rue d’Antibes is a fun stop for a girls’ shopping moment, with a mix of high-end boutiques and French resort wear brands. It’s great for picking up vacation outfits or last-minute beach club looks. Think of it as your “get ready for dinner” prep stop.
Guided Cannes tour with a screenwriter (film lovers experience)
Cannes is famously home to the Cannes Film Festival, and one of the most unique ways to experience the city is through a guided walking tour led by a local screenwriter or film industry insider. You’ll explore filming locations, festival landmarks, and behind-the-scenes stories that bring the city’s cinematic history to life. It’s a must for movie lovers and adds a completely different layer to the typical Riviera experience.
Day trip to Antibes
Antibes is one of the easiest and most charming day trips from Cannes, just a short drive away. It offers a more laid-back, authentic Riviera feel with its old town, waterfront restaurants, and relaxed beach scene. It’s perfect for a slower morning or afternoon when you want a break from the Cannes energy.
Places to eat & drink in Cannes

Catching the sunset and dinner on the beach is a must in Cannes.
La Guérite
La Guérite is one of the most iconic experiences in Cannes and a true “book it early” reservation. You arrive by boat, which immediately makes it feel like an event, and spend the day dining, dancing, and lounging by the water. It’s high-energy, celebratory, and perfect for a special group lunch. Make sure to reserve the 3 p.m. reservation if you want to sing and dance on your chair. This is an experience you and the girls don’t want to miss!
Lucia
Lucia is a chic, stylish dinner option that works perfectly for a girls’ night out. The vibe is elevated but still approachable, with beautiful interiors and a lively atmosphere. It’s a great “first night in Cannes” or transition dinner after a beach day. (Has an amazing espresso martini!)
La Môme
La Môme is one of the most popular dinner spots for groups in Cannes, known for its glamorous, high-energy atmosphere. Make sure to book the Cannes location, as it has a very different vibe from the beach club version. This is where dinner easily turns into a full girls’ night out.
Mr. Nakamoto
Mr. Nakamoto is a trendy, design-forward Asian-inspired restaurant that feels very chic. The vibe is stylish and social without being overwhelming. Perfect for a dressed-up dinner with great food and a fun atmosphere.
Tredici
Tredici is a cozy Italian spot that’s perfect for a more relaxed dinner. Located in Old Town, it feels warm, intimate, and slightly less scene-heavy than the Riviera hotspots. Ideal for a slower night where you want great food and conversation.
Zuma
Zuma is a contemporary Japanese izakaya-style restaurant, known for its elevated sushi, robata grill dishes, and shareable plates meant for a social dining experience. It’s one of the hardest reservations in Cannes and brings a lively, see-and-be-seen crowd. Expect an elevated dinner that naturally flows into a full night out.
Rüya
Rüya offers something a little different with its modern Turkish cuisine and bold flavors. The interiors are beautiful and the atmosphere feels vibrant and social. It’s a great option when your group wants something unique but still very chic.
Le Bar à Vin
Le Bar à Vin is your low-key night option when you want to slow things down. It’s cozy, wine-focused, and feels more local and relaxed compared to the high-energy spots. Perfect for a casual night or pre-dinner wine stop.
Need to know
Cannes is an easy Riviera arrival point
Cannes is located just a 30-minute drive from Nice Côte d’Azur Airport, making it one of the most convenient entry points to the South of France. It’s an ideal first stop on a girls’ trip before continuing on to destinations like St. Tropez. Also a great start if you want to end your trip in Nice, that way you’re closest to the airport on your last stop to make it back home easier.
La Guérite is a full experience, not just a meal
La Guérite requires advance reservations and a boat transfer from Cannes. It should be planned as a dedicated half-day experience rather than a quick stop, and is one of the most memorable and unique dining experiences on the Riviera. Reservations book up fast. Be sure to reserve this one months in advance.
