Curator’s statement
Mexico is one of my favorite countries to visit. While I love the Riviera Maya area, the Nayarit area provides so much diversity of landscape and something new for a frequent Mexico traveler. Combining Punta Mita with Mandarina is just the ticket for easy beach days, local restaurants, and R&R where jungle meets the sea. I love a split stay of a few nights in Punta Mita and a few nights in Mandarina to really soak it all in and experience different parts of this beautiful region. Foodies, you are in for a treat! Flying in and out of PVR, the trip is easier than you think.

Things to do in Mexico

Boat day: head out on the water and visit the Marietas Islands. Certain times of the year, you can also go whale watching.
Beach and pool days: You will spend most of your time enjoying the beaches and gorgeous hotel pools. From the white sand beach at Susurros for couples, the beach and lazy river for families at Four Seasons, and the stunning beach set up at the new Rosewood Mandarina -- it’s hard to go wrong here.
ATV and zip-lining: For the adventurous, the Nayarit/Puerto Vallarta area is a great place for ATVing and ziplining.
Spa: A massage at Susurros is a must.
Punta Mita town: Walk around this quaint beach town and grab some lunch or dinner. Super close to both Susurros and Four Seasons.
Horseback riding and a polo match: Ride horses at Mandarina and if in season, catch a polo match at their equestrian center.
Visit the town of Sayulita for laidback surf vibes and a surprising art scene.
Hiking the Sierra Madre mountain.
Places to eat & drink in Mexico

Punta Mita
Mina: An old-school beachfront vibe with elevated Mexican classics. Don’t skip the chicken mole.
Zicatela: A more modern beachfront dining spot with casual seafood and Mexican dishes.
La Boquita: Casual Mexican small plates at Susurros. Beautiful setting for some tacos and delicious cocktails.
Casa Milpa: Mediterranean and Mexican cuisine at Susurros.
Sufi Ocean Club: Mexican cuisine overlooking Banderas Bay.
La Rustica for casual family meals.
Mandarina
Toppu: Japanese cuisine at Rosewood Mandarina. Dine in either the beautiful outdoor area, the sushi bar, or the Japanese speakeasy.
Buena Onda: Beachfront Spanish-inspired cuisine. Order the grilled fish of the day to share and watch the most beautiful sunsets, toes in sand. (Rosewood Mandarina)
La Cocina Mandarina: The main beachfront restaurant is both stylish and delicious. Mexican classics. (Rosewood Mandarina)
