Advisor - Tranquil Mexico: The Natural Charm of La Paz
Curator’s statement

La Paz, located along the calm shores of the Sea of Cortez, offers a more relaxed and authentic experience compared to the busy atmosphere of Cabo. The area is home to a large number of marine mammals and birds, making it a great spot for nature enthusiasts and adventure seekers. Taking a boat ride to explore nearby islands and quiet southern coves is a must.

Things to do in La Paz

  • Relax on the beaches: Spend a day at Balandra Beach, famous for its turquoise lagoon and unique rock formations. Other favorites include Tecolote Beach and El Coromuel Beach.

  • Snorkeling and diving: The Sea of Cortez offers vibrant coral reefs and opportunities to swim alongside tropical fish and even whale sharks (in season).

  • Whale watching: From January to March, gray whales migrate through these waters, offering incredible opportunities for close encounters.

We did our trip with Harker Board Co, and they went above and beyond to make the tour an unforgettable day-long trip with food and drinks. Definitely recommended!

  • Explore the Malecón: La Paz’s picturesque waterfront promenade is lined with restaurants, cafes and shops. It's perfect for a sunset stroll or renting a bike.

  • Discover La Paz Cathedral: Located in the historic center, this neoclassical church is a cultural landmark.
