Advisor - London at Christmas
Curator’s statement

London won my heart recently and I had to return back. London is known for having plenty of Christmas markets, and I had to experience that for myself. There is always something to do or see in this city!

Day 1: Arrive

My view from The Devil Wears Prada

The arrival day is always tricky. A good way to work through the day and adjust to the time change is to see a show! There are a wide variety to choose from. On this day, I saw The Devil Wears Prada and visited the Christmas market at Tottenham Court Station. The truffle burger I had was a standout!

Day 2: Warner Brothers Studio Tour

Christmas tree at Covent Garden

Day two was a Warner Brothers Studio Tour for Harry Potter. This books-up quickly, so it’s important to reserve well in advance. I would also recommend going in the morning. This is well worth it if you are a fan of the series! I took the time to visit the Covent Garden market, probably my favorite of the ones I visited, and saw the Lion King in theater in the evening.

Day 3: Harry Potter and the Cursed Child

On day three, I went to see the two-part play of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. Prior to the show, I went to the Cambridge and tried the steak and pale ale pie. This was pleasantly surprising. Nothing tastes better than a pint at a British pub as well. For dinner, I went to Hobson’s for fish and chips (and also a deep-fried Mars bar). This was my favorite restaurant of the trip!

Day 4: Premier League match

One of the main reasons I returned to London was to go to a Premier League match! It can be tricky to get tickets as reselling is banned in England, but I was able to go to the Tottenham-Liverpool match. I tried Turkish food as well. One of the great things about London is that you can eat food from anywhere in the world. After the match, I went to the Christmas market at Trafalgar Square and was able to get Dubai chocolate!

Day 5: Richmond

Ted Lasso’s front door

On day five, I took the train to Richmond, site of the television show Ted Lasso. I really loved this town, only to find out that the cost of housing is incredibly high there. I was able to enjoy the famous pub from the show before heading to Passyunk Avenue in South London. This is an American sports bar that plays NFL games. It had a great environment!

Day 6: Leicester Square

Chinatown in London

Day six started slow, but I explored Leicester Square and had dinner at a restaurant called Burger and Lobster. Here I had a very good lobster bisque and a lobster burger. In the evening I saw the theater show for Back to the Future, probably my favorite of the whole trip!

Day 7: Final day

London was well-decorated for Christmas

My final day in London involved a lot of walking and exploring. I found a really nice Christmas market near Temple Station, returned to Covent Garden, and enjoyed another British pub. In the evening, I saw Elf to celebrate Christmas Eve-Eve. It was a great way to finish the trip!

Need to know

London at Christmas time is beautiful. Even though it is very crowded, there were no issues with public transport, so seeing as much or as little as you want is easily possible.
