Places to eat & drink in Nashville, TN

Crema Coffee Roasters: One of my favorite ways to begin exploring a city is slowly, with a great cup of coffee. Crema Coffee Roasters is a beloved Nashville café known for its thoughtful approach to sourcing and brewing coffee. It’s the perfect place to ease into the day before heading out to explore the city’s neighborhoods and food scene.
Try the Famous Banana Pudding at The Pharmacy Burger Parlor & Beer Garden: Located in East Nashville, The Pharmacy is known for its classic burgers and old-school soda fountain vibes. Their house-made sodas and banana pudding are local favorites, and the beer garden makes it a great place to lose track of time with friends.
Loveless Cafe for a true Southern breakfast: Just outside the city, this cafe has been serving Southern comfort food since the 50s. Their biscuits and country ham are legendary.
Prince’s Hot Chicken Shack: While many visitors go to the more widely known hot chicken spots, Prince’s is the original. The recipe dates back nearly a century and remains one of the most authentic ways to experience the iconic Nashville hot chicken.
The Optimist: Feeling optimistic? Located in The Gulch, this restaurant is a fantastic choice for a more refined dinner. The seafood-focused menu and oyster bar offer a coastal twist that balances Nashville’s heavier Southern dishes.
The Catbird Seat: This is one of the most celebrated restaurants in Nashville and a true culinary experience. Need to know
Nashville is a popular weekend destination, so hotels and restaurants can fill up quickly, especially during concerts, festivals, and football season. Booking accommodations and dining reservations in advance is recommended. Downtown is very walkable, and ride-share makes it easy to explore neighborhoods like The Gulch, East Nashville, and 12 South. Spring and fall offer especially beautiful weather and vibrant city energy. Nashville is also a city that rewards curiosity…leave room in your itinerary to wander neighborhoods, follow the sound of live music, and discover great food along the way.
