Things to do in New York City

  • Apollo Theater: Historic landmark theater in Harlem. Visit as part of a civil rights tour or a Harlem Renaissance tour.

  • Banksy Museum: An immersive museum dedicated to the street artist, Banksy, perhaps the most famous artist of our time.

  • Bowne House: One of the oldest structures in New York, built in 1661. Built by John Bowne, an early defender of religious freedom. The house subsequently became a center for abolitionism and the Underground Railroad.

  • Brooklyn Botanic Garden: A calming retreat in Brooklyn that features a Japanese pond garden and cherry blossoms. If it's not the right time for cherry blossoms, there are seasonal floral displays.

  • Federal Hall: Historic site on Wall Street where George Washington was inaugurated as the first president. The accompanying museum has exhibits on the founding of the US government.

  • Flatiron Building: Iconic New York skyscraper, one of the first, built in 1902. Visit as part of a New York architectural tour.

  • Morgan Library & Museum: The private library of J.P. Morgan features literary and music manuscripts, notably Dickens' A Christmas Carol, as well as an extensive art collection.

  • Neue Galerie: Art museum on 5th Avenue's Millionaire's Row featuring early 20th-century German and Austrian art, notably Gustav Klimt's Portrait of Adele Bloch Bauer.

  • Tenement Museum: You may have ancestors who settled here when they first arrived in America. The museum tells the fascinating story of the immigrant communities that lived here.

  • Village Vanguard: Historic New York jazz club where most of the jazz greats have played. A must for any jazz enthusiast.

Places to eat & drink in New York City

  • Chinatown: Many authentic Chinese restaurants. Take a food tour so you can sample some of the best.

  • Little Italy: Another area with too many good restaurants to list, where it's worth it to take a food tour.

  • Atera: Michelin-starred restaurant with seasonal tasting menus. The shrimp bisque is outstanding.

  • Bubby's: Lower Manhattan institution famous for its pies.

  • Chambers: New American restaurant in Lower Manhattan famous for mascarpone mille-feuille.

  • Katz's Deli: An iconic deli featured in many films.

  • Le Bernardin: Iconic Michelin-starred seafood restaurant.

  • Manhatta: Located on the 60th floor, it offers amazing views of the city
