Things to do in Slovenia

Lake Bled

  • Wander along the river in Ljubljana, one of the most charming capital cities in Europe. Stop by Dragon Bridge, admire the doors of Ljubljana Cathedral, and pop inside Town Hall.

  • Hike up to Ljubljana Castle and explore the grounds.

  • Spend a day at Lake Bled. Walk around the lake, paddle or hire a boat to visit the island, and stop by Bled Castle for a stunning bird's-eye view. Don't forget to try a piece of Bled cream cake!

  • Head north to enjoy the breathtaking beauty of the Julian Alps in Triglav National Park. There are many hiking options for all skill levels, and the clear rivers are perfect for cooling off afterward.

  • Explore the many caves of Slovenia. Admire Predjama Castle, a fortress built into the side of a mountain. Just a short drive away, go underground to Postojna Cave. Take a train deep into the heart of the cave, enjoy a guided tour to see the vast caverns, and send a postcard from the underground post office!
