Things to do in Miami

Don’t miss a visit to the Vizcaya museum, where you will step back in time and feel like you are in the Great Gatsby!

Try a snorkeling excursion at Pennekamp State Park: Clean, up-to-date rental equipment, knowledgeable guides who will inform you about the environmental issues in Florida’s coral reefs and the many varieties of sea life. No signs of a tourist trap here!

Cuban Breakfast delights, and cafe at Versailles Bakery: Enjoy fresh-baked meat pastries, freshly squeezed fruit juices, cafe con leche. Order from the walk-up window outside in the warm Florida sunshine and enjoy dining on the outdoor patio where people-watching is the entertainment!

Dinner at the Cardozo Hotel in South Beach: Enjoy live music, outdoor dining, friendly wait staff, and a great menu with lots of varieties of Latin-fusion seafood cuisine. This is a great spot for people-watching. Walk through the beautiful marble lobby to see the black & white photos of the film shot there, “Garden of Eden."

Places to eat & drink in Miami

  • Versaille Bakery for brunch and coffee.

  • Pura Vida on Miracle Mile in Coral Gables.

  • Cardoza Hotel in South Beach.

  • Robbie’s of Islamorada, Florida Keys: This is a perfect spot for foodies. Enjoy coconut juice straight from the coconut, feed the tarpon, sip a rumrunner while relaxing in adirondack chairs on the beach watching the sunset!

Need to know

  • Avoid driving from Miami to the Keys after 3 pm or you’ll likely hit the rush hour grid-lock.

  • Bring a bag to throw on flip-flops, bathing suit, and something casual to enjoy the entire day at the beach then quickly change for dinner on the entertaining South Beach strip!
