Advisor - Wading into Paradise: Turks & Caicos Through My Eyes
Curator’s statement

Turks & Caicos will always hold a special place in my heart. It was one of the very first places I traveled to outside the US, and from the moment I saw that crystal-clear turquoise water, I was hooked. There's just something about the way the ocean sparkles here — it doesn’t even look real! Over the years, it’s continued to be one of my favorite Caribbean destinations. The beaches are absolutely breathtaking, the vibe is peaceful and the beauty of the islands never gets old. Every time I go back, it feels like the first time all over again.

Things to do on Turks and Caicos

Spend the day at Grace Bay Beach: This is what dreams are made of — soft white sand, calm turquoise water and some of the best beach lounging you'll ever experience. It’s consistently ranked as one of the best beaches in the world for a reason.

Take a snorkel cruise with Island Vibes or Lady Grace: These are my two favorite tour companies on the island — Island Vibes Tours brings the fun, laid-back energy (complete with diving boards and rum punch!), while Lady Grace Catamaran offers a smooth, upscale sailing experience. Both are amazing ways to see the reef, visit Iguana Island and soak in those ocean views.

Visit Taylor Bay & Sapodilla Bay Beaches: Tucked-away gems with shallow, warm water that feels like a giant bath. Great for families or just a peaceful escape from the more popular beaches.

Try the Famous Conch Salad at Da Conch Shack: This beachfront spot is a local legend. You can watch fresh conch being pulled from the ocean and prepped right in front of you — served with music, beach chairs and a cold drink in hand.

Explore Chalk Sound: This bright turquoise lagoon is absolutely stunning. Rent a kayak or paddleboard and float across the shallow, crystal-clear waters. It’s peaceful, scenic and totally photo-worthy.

Horseback riding with Provo Ponies: For a unique and scenic adventure, head to Provo Ponies for a guided horseback riding tour along Long Bay Beach. Whether you're a beginner or experienced rider, it’s an unforgettable experience riding along the shore with breathtaking views.

Indulge in a Spa Day: There are some gorgeous spa options on the island and many at beachfront resorts. They offer everything from oceanfront massages to luxurious body scrubs with island ingredients. Total relaxation mode.

Book a private beach dinner: Many resorts and private chefs offer beachfront dining experiences that are beyond romantic. Picture tiki torches, soft waves and a custom menu under the stars — perfect for a special night.

Visit the Thursday Night Fish Fry: This weekly event is a must! Local vendors, live music, fresh seafood, rum punches and a fun community vibe make it the best way to experience the island's culture and flavor.

Take a Day Trip to North or Middle Caicos: Catch the ferry and spend a day exploring caves, cliffs and untouched beaches. It feels like an adventure to a totally different world — raw, rugged and beautiful in a completely different way from Grace Bay

Places to eat & drink on Turks and Caicos

Best breakfast & brunch spots

Bay Bistro (Sibonné Beach Hotel): This beachfront gem isn’t just great for dinner — their breakfast with an ocean view is next-level. Enjoy classics like eggs benedict, banana pancakes or a tropical fruit plate just steps from the sand. It’s peaceful, delicious, and the view doesn’t hurt either.

Le Bouchon du Village (Regent Village): A quaint French café tucked in the heart of Grace Bay. Grab a coffee and a buttery croissant — or go all in with their eggs benedict and mimosas.

Shay Café (Le Vele Plaza): Super casual and friendly with great coffee, breakfast wraps and pastries. A great spot for a quick bite before heading to the beach.

Top dinner restaurants

Coco Bistro (Grace Bay): A total must-visit. Dine under swaying palm trees in a magical garden setting. The food is always incredible — fresh seafood, local ingredients and excellent service. Reservations are a must.

Mr. Grouper’s Restaurant (Lower Bight Road): A beloved local favorite known for its laid-back atmosphere and seriously good seafood. The blackened grouper and conch fritters are must-tries. No frills, just flavorful, authentic island cooking.

Infiniti Restaurant at Grace Bay Club: Elegant and upscale with oceanfront views. Perfect for a special night out — think fine wines, filet mignon and candlelight.

Bay Bistro (Sibonné Beach Hotel): Whether you go for brunch or dinner, Bay Bistro never disappoints. It’s right on the beach, and the sunset views are magic. The seafood curry and grilled lobster are personal favorites — and the vibe is relaxed but still romantic.

Best bars & cocktail spots

Somewhere Café & Lounge(Coral Gardens): A beachy two-level bar with live music, amazing tacos and casual vibes. Great for catching the sunset with a cocktail in hand — try the mojito or the rum punch.

Hemingway’s Restaurant & Bar (at The Sands): Classic beachfront bar and grill with a chill, old-school island feel. Great spot for happy hour drinks, people-watching and casual bites.

The Deck at Seven Stars Resort: Upscale yet relaxed, this beachfront bar has amazing craft cocktails and some of the best sunset views in Grace Bay. Try the mango margarita or anything with local rum.

The Cave Bar (at Rock House Resort):Tucked into the limestone cliffs of Blue Mountain, The Cave Bar offers a Mediterranean-inspired ambiance with panoramic views of Providenciales' north coast. It's a perfect spot to watch the sunset or unwind with the DJ on Saturday nights.

Need to know

A car is a must: If you really want to explore the island, renting a car is essential. While taxis are available, having your own wheels lets you visit hidden beaches, great local restaurants and scenic spots at your own pace.

Book dining reservations early: Turks & Caicos has a limited number of high-quality restaurants, and many can book up quickly, especially during peak season. Be sure to make dining reservations ahead of time, particularly for popular spots like Coco Bistro or Infiniti Restaurant.

Pack reef-safe sunscreen: The marine life around the islands is stunning, and you’ll want to protect it! Make sure you use reef-safe sunscreen to keep the coral reefs healthy and vibrant. Plus, it’s better for your skin, too.
