The Chromatic Gate in Santa Barbara

  • Rose Garden: Stop and smell the roses at the Santa Barbara Rose Garden. It is one of the most beautiful and peaceful gardens that many come to visit. It is nestled right across from the Mission, enjoy a picnic on the grass surrounded by the sweet fragrance.

  • Stearns Wharf: This is one of Santa Barbara’s most iconic landmarks and oldest working wooden wharf in California. You can shop, enjoy fresh clam chowder and seafood, or stop at the Sea Center and learn all about marine life.

  • Funk Zone: The Funk Zone is the trendiest neighborhood in Santa Barbara, full of color, music, and good vibes. You can spend the afternoon here sipping on your favorite wine or locally brewed beer in a fun and uplifting atmosphere.

  • Santa Barbara Courthouse: Built in 1929, in a Spanish Colonial Revival style, the courthouse is a stunning landmark with painted murals and colorful tiles that feel like a step back in time. You can also head to the top of the courthouse, via elevator and a few stairs and get a panoramic view of downtown Santa Barbara.

  • Solvang: Just a short drive from Santa Barbara, you feel like you’re stepping into a piece of Denmark in California. Enjoy some Danish pastries at the local bakeries and explore many wine tasting rooms nearby.

  • Surrey Ride: One of the most fun and family-friendly ways to experience Santa Barbara’s waterfront is by renting a Surrey bike. It comes in many different sizes and you and your group can cruise along the bike path at your own pace, perfect for couples, families and groups.

  • Wine tasting: This is a must for anyone who loves good wine, stunning scenery, and a laid-back California vibe. You can enjoy tastings in town along the Urban Wine Trail or head out about 45 mins into the valley for rolling hills and charming small-town wineries.

Zaytoon

  • Boathouse at Hendry’s Beach: Loved by locals and visitors, perched right on the sand, offering incredible views of the ocean. It is known for its fresh seafood, creative cocktails, and relaxed yet upscale atmosphere.

  • Zaytoon: One of Santa Barbara’s most unique dining experiences, offering modern Lebanese cuisine in a romantic, garden-like setting. It has a magical outdoor patio—with twinkling lights, glowing fire pits, and an incredible chocolate cake.

  • La Playa Azul: Family-owned Mexican restaurant, beloved by locals for its warm hospitality and authentic flavors. Near downtown, with refreshing margaritas, it’s the way to go on a warm Santa Barbara afternoon.

  • Longboards: A laid-back, surf-themed restaurant perched right on Stearns Wharf, offering the best ocean views in town. With a causal vibe, colorful decor, and an open-air deck, it is the perfect place to enjoy a sunny afternoon or a golden sunset.

  • Flor de Maiz is an upscale Mexican restaurant that brings bold flavors and authentic presentation to Santa Barbara’s waterfront. The menu highlights dishes like mole, ceviches, and handmade tortillas.

  • Brophy Bros: A classic seafood restaurant right on the harbor with unbeatable views of the marina and mountains. The menu favorites include clam chowder, oysters on the half shell, and heaping platters of shrimp, crab, and fish all paired perfectly with a signature Blood Mary.

There are many towns and cities nearby that are worth a visit too, including Ojai, Ventura, Solvang, Santa Ynez, and Los Olivos.
