Curator’s statement
Fall in New York is a season I wait for all year. The light softens, the air sharpens, and the city moves cinematically. From golden afternoons in Central Park to late nights tucked into candlelit restaurant corners, autumn feels like New York dressed in its chicest self.

Things to do in New York City

Day visit to The Met
Stroll through Central Park and grab a coffee: There’s nothing like Central Park in fall. I’ll grab a coffee from Ralph’s or Bluestone Lane and wander around Bethesda Terrace and the Lake under the changing leaves.
Visit The Whitney or The Met: Both shine in autumn—the Whitney for its bold exhibits and rooftop views; The Met for its timeless galleries and rooftop framed by fall foliage.
Vintage and boutique shopping in SoHo: SoHo is buzzing in the fall. I love mixing vintage finds with stops at chic boutiques like Khaite or the Webster and then pausing for an espresso at La Mercerie.
Boozy weekend brunch: Café Chelsea’s French vibe or Sadelle’s for bagels and champagne—both are perfect spots to linger on crisp weekends.
Cocktails at Bemelmans Bar: With its murals, live piano, and martinis, Bemelmans is New York glamour at its finest.
Coffee shop hopping and shopping in the West Village: Tree-lined streets, cozy cafés like Pisellino, and boutique browsing—it’s fall charm at its best.
The High Line and Little Island at sunset: Amber plantings and golden light make this walk magical. I love ending the evening at Little Island as the skyline glows. Great for a date as well.
Walk or run on the West Side Highway: The best people watching Hudson River path, with skyline views and the city’s energy all around.
Union Square Greenmarket: Autumn is peak season here. Fresh apples, hot cider, and the freshest produce and baked goods are the best for a weekend stroll.
Lower East Side evenings: Start with a gallery stop, then cocktails at Attaboy, and dinner at Dhamaka or Dirty French—the LES always buzzes.
Places to eat & drink in New York City

The Nines: Book a dinner reservation here and you’ll get more than a meal—there’s a live piano to set the scene and some of the best caviar service. You can also try to slip in for a martini at the bar, which turns into a clubby late-night scene after 11 pm.
Shmoné: A chic, chef-driven spot in Greenwich Village with Israeli flavors and a lively, stylish crowd. Every dish feels creative and unexpected.
Kiki’s: A downtown staple with a cool, unfussy energy and no reservations. Classic Greek plates served family-style make it perfect for long dinners with friends.
Nubeluz at The Ritz-Carlton, NoMad: A glamorous indoor rooftop with sweeping skyline views. It’s a perfect date spot, equally fun for a night out with girlfriends—or even for meeting eligible bachelors over jewel-box cocktails.
The Corner Store (SoHo): One of the hardest tables to get in the city right now. Elevated comfort food, playful martinis, and a chic design draw a buzzy, in-the-know crowd.
Rezdôra: Some of the best pasta in the city. Cozy and warm, it’s the closest you’ll get to Italy without leaving Flatiron.
BondSt (SoHo): A sleek downtown institution for sushi and people-watching. The vibe is chic, lively, and distinctly SoHo.
Champagne & Caviar Bar at RH: Decadent, glamorous, and over-the-top in the best way. Perfect for an indulgent toast or pre-dinner stop.
American Bar: Classic American brasserie style with a social, stylish scene. It’s where locals and visitors mingle over oysters and martinis.
Portrait Bar at The Fifth Avenue Hotel: A fabulous cocktail lounge with a moody, art-filled setting. The perfect place for an elegant nightcap or date spot.
Need to know
Book ahead: Hot spots like The Nines, The Corner Store, and Rezdôra fill up fast. Lock in a table early—or try your luck at the bar.
Dress the part: Fall weather keeps you guessing. A trench or leather jacket works by day, but at night you’ll want to dress it up—downtown always leans stylish.
Cultural calendar: Autumn is peak season for art and culture. Think film festivals, Broadway openings, and a fresh wave of gallery shows.
Weather swings: September stays warm, but by late October it’s sweater-and-scarf season. Pack layers—you’ll need them.
