Curator’s statement
In the last few years, Cancún has had a major glow-up—evolving from copy-paste all-inclusives into stylish resorts with real personality. It’s now one of the easiest, most elevated long-weekend getaways for groups.

Need to know
Book early for groups: The best all-inclusives, dinner reservations, beach clubs, and yacht days sell out quickly—especially for weekends and peak seasons.
Transfers matter: Private airport transfers make a huge difference for groups (and avoid long waits).
Pick the right vibe: Cancún (Hotel Zone) is best for nightlife and convenience, while Riviera Maya feels more resort-focused and relaxed.
Sargassum (seaweed) season: Seaweed is typically heaviest from April through October (with peak months often May–August). The best months for clearer beaches are usually November through March.
Bring the essentials: Reef-safe sunscreen, bug spray (especially for cenotes), and a light cover-up are musts.
Plan one “big day”: A yacht day, cenote/ATV tour, or Tulum day trip is the perfect anchor activity for the weekend.
Money tips: Have small cash for tipping drivers, guides, and resort staff—service is great and tips are always appreciated.
Safety & logistics: Stick to trusted transportation, confirm prices in advance, and avoid last-minute street bookings for excursions.
