Need to know
Dubai is an exceptionally safe and modern city, and its commitment to accessibility is evident everywhere. The local people are very welcoming and eager to help, often going above and beyond to assist. This is why Dubai is a perfect destination where luxury and accessible travel blend seamlessly, making it one of our top recommendations for travelers who want a high-end experience without compromising on their accessibility needs.
For getting there, Emirates is the national airline and offers an incredible flying experience. They have a dedicated "Accessible Travel" section on their website, allowing you to pre-arrange assistance from check-in to your seat, including wheelchair services and accommodations for hearing and visually impaired travelers. Etihad, based in nearby Abu Dhabi, is also a fantastic option with similar accessibility programs.
Once you arrive, getting around is a breeze. Taxis are abundant, and you can specifically book a "People of Determination Taxi" (accessible taxi) through the Dubai Taxi Corporation (DTC) app or by calling their toll-free number. The Dubai Metro is also a great option, with lifts at every station, dedicated spaces on trains for wheelchairs, and tactile guidance for the visually impaired. Most public spaces, from malls to museums, are designed with wide pathways, ramps, and accessible restrooms. It’s always a good idea to call ahead to confirm specific accommodations for your needs.
If you’re ready to explore this incredible city and want to ensure a perfectly curated and seamless experience, we can help. As travel advisors who know Dubai well from multiple personal visits, we can craft you a personalized luxury itinerary that covers every detail. Whether you have specific accessibility needs or simply want a seamless, worry-free experience, we’ll make sure your trip is flawless from start to finish.
