Curator’s statement
Mexico is one of my favorite places to honeymoon—it truly offers the best of everything. You can spend your mornings slow and relaxed, mix in adventure (think snorkeling, sailing, exploring colorful towns, or jungle hikes), and unwind each evening at some of the most unique, design-forward hotels in the world. With incredible food, warm hospitality, and the perfect balance of activity and downtime, it’s a destination that makes celebrating love feel effortless and unforgettable.

Where to stay in Mexico

Casawabi
Boca de Agua
Take a spectacular jungle walk and end the day with a private culinary class.
Staying here is all about enjoying the property and all it has to offer. You truly feel at one with nature, and there are enough on-site activities to keep you more than busy.
Hotel Humano
Surf lessons will fill your days, then jacuzzi nights.
Hotel Humano is a fun place to stay for those that don’t want to feel too disconnected—you get to enjoy the stunning property while still being walking distance to the local town with shops and restaurants aplenty.
Terrestre Hotel
Private tours at Casawabi, and Mezcal tastings followed by a jungle Omakase dinner.
My personal favorite—never have I felt so at peace at a property and enjoyed so many delicious meals. There still is enough to do on this stretch of Puerto Escondido, but you also feel off the beaten path. One place I will continue to revisit time and time again.
Baja Club
Immerse in local culture with the San José del Cabo Art Walk and then check out the local Baja Brewing.
Another perfect property for those couples that still want to be close to the action but have the option to retreat to the tranquility of this property. Another classic Design Hotel property, where every corner is design-forward.
Places to eat & drink in Mexico

Terrestre restaurant
The on-site restaurant at Boca de Agua, Flora, uses farm-fresh ingredients to create a truly sensational meal. They offer a beautiful private dinner setting, where you experience an unforgettable evening under the stars.
María Sirena, La Punta Zicatela is only a short walk from Hotel Humano. It has a great outdoor vibe and the coconut shrimp tacos are a must.
Sommo: Also nearby, gives you a nice break from local cuisine with some delicious Japanese fare. Another vibey and well-designed spot to spend your evening.
The restaurant at Terrestre Hotel has some of the best fish I’ve ever tried to this day. But for lunch, grab a bike and head over Restaurante Punta Pájaros for some of the best tacos you've had. For a unique dining experience, making a reservation at Kakurega Omakase is a must.
Baja Club is another property with amazing on-site restaurants, but for a break, head out to Los 32 Sabores for an authentic ambiance and meal for the night.
Need to know
Flying into Mexico City and then taking a small interstate flight is usually easiest for North American travelers.
Only use bottled water—yes, it’s true what they say and it’s better to be safe than sorry.
Don’t plan every moment! A tip I always give to my clients, allow for spontaneity—these places are so rich in culture and nature and you have chunks of time in your day to just go with the flow and see where you end up.
