Curator’s statement
Upstate New York holds a special kind of magic—it's a place where mountains meet art, and time seems to slow down. It’s a region where you can wake up to misty valleys, spend the day exploring trails or vintage shops, and end with firelight and local wine. The blend of design-forward hotels and untouched nature makes it both grounding and inspiring. Whether I'm seeking stillness or creativity, this place somehow gives me both.

Things to do in Upstate New York

Kaaterskill Falls autmn hike
Hike to Kaaterskill Falls: One of the most iconic waterfalls. A short but scenic hike leads to this two-tiered waterfall with stunning views, especially in fall. This is good for beginners or medium hikers—I did this both pregnant and with my son at 10 months old.
Cozy up with a cocktail and good company around the outdoor fire pits with mountain air and starlit skies. It’s the best kind of simple. Ice skating opens in winter at Scribner's—it's not real ice, but it's a moment
Visit local farmers markets in Rosendale, Kingston, or Woodstock.
See a live show at Levon Helm Studios in Woodstock.
Explore Woodstock's Tinker Street: Quirky shops, vintage finds, record stores, and local art galleries. Woodstock’s walkable town center is perfect for a laid-back afternoon.
Unwind at Wildflower Farms Spa: Indulge in a botanical facial or massage followed by a soak with a view of wildflower meadows. Total reset mode.
