Advisor - O'ahu Escape: 8 Days for the Whole Family
Curator’s statement

O‘ahu has always held a special place in my heart. I first lived in Waikiki in my early twenties, soaking in the vibrant energy and stunning ocean views. Returning years later with my husband, kids, in-laws, and my mom to celebrate my oldest child’s 10th birthday made the island even more meaningful. O’ahu is where cherished memories span generations, blending the excitement of youth with the warmth of family togetherness.

Day 1: Arrival in Waikiki & poolside lunch

Private transfer from HNL to Waikiki

Upon arrival at Honolulu International Airport (HNL), enjoy a private transfer to your Waikiki hotel. If your room isn’t ready, take a leisurely stroll through the International Marketplace, then enjoy lunch at The Beach Bar, the poolside restaurant at the iconic Moana Surfrider, A Westin Resort & Spa, Waikiki Beach. Soak in the ocean views and vibrant Waikiki atmosphere as you begin your island adventure.

Day 2: A scenic hike at Moana Falls

Start your day with a visit to Moana Falls. Take an Uber or taxi to the trailhead and enjoy a scenic morning hike, while the grandparents stay behind to relax and take in the beauty of Waikiki. This way, everyone can enjoy the day at their own pace before regrouping for the rest of your O'ahu adventure.

Day 3: A guided tour of Pearl Harbor National Memorial

Today, step into history with a guided visit to Pearl Harbor National Memorial. Your tour guide will pick you up directly from your hotel and escort you inside the grounds, helping you navigate the site with ease. They’ll provide guidance on where to go, then allow you time to explore at your own pace. Be sure to secure a time slot for the ferry boat to visit the iconic USS Arizona Memorial for a truly meaningful experience.

Day 4: Catamaran cruise

Set out on a private ocean adventure with Mana Cruises. Spend the day sailing along O'ahu’s stunning coastline aboard your own catamaran, with plenty of time to snorkel in crystal-clear waters, relax on deck, and take in the island from a new perspective. This exclusive experience is perfect for the whole family to enjoy together while creating unforgettable memories on the water.

Day 5: ATV adventures & head north

Nana driving the ATV at Kualoa Ranch

Check out of your Waikiki hotel this morning and pick up your rental car to begin your journey around the island. Head to Kualoa Ranch for an exciting ATV adventure through lush valleys and iconic filming locations.

After your tour, continue your scenic drive up to O’ahu’s North Shore and check in at Turtle Bay Resort. Settle in and enjoy a more laid-back pace, surrounded by breathtaking coastal views and a true island escape

Day 6: Hike in Waimea Valley & pool time

Start your morning early with a visit to Waimea Valley, where you’ll enjoy a scenic walk to the beautiful Waimea Falls. Take in the lush surroundings and, if conditions allow, enjoy a refreshing swim beneath the falls.

After your hike, head back toward Turtle Bay Resort for a relaxed lunch at Lei Lei’s Bar & Grill, followed by some well-deserved pool time.

In the evening, enjoy a memorable dinner at Roy’s Beach House, the perfect way to end a day filled with natural beauty and island relaxation.

Day 7: Explore North Shore

Begin your morning with a hands-on lei-making class in the lobby, a beautiful way to connect with Hawaiian culture. Then set out to explore O’ahu’s iconic North Shore.

Stop for a casual lunch at Teddy’s Bigger Burgers, followed by a must-try treat at Matsumoto Shave Ice in Haleiwa town.

Afterward, head back to Turtle Bay Resort to relax and enjoy some time on the beach.

In the evening, experience the spirit of the islands at a traditional Polynesian Luau, where you’ll enjoy local cuisine, music, and cultural performances—an unforgettable way to end your North Shore stay.

Day 8: Departure day

Enjoy a final morning in paradise before checking out of Turtle Bay Resort. Drive to the airport, return your rental car, and head home with unforgettable memories from your time in O’ahu.

Need to know

Splitting your stay between Waikiki and the North Shore is the perfect way to experience the full range of O’ahu’s energy and beauty. Waikiki is ideal for sightseeing, guided tours, and walkable access to shopping and dining—so you can enjoy your time without the need for a car.

As you transition to the North Shore, picking up a rental car allows you to explore at your own pace before settling into a more relaxed, laid-back atmosphere. It’s the perfect balance of adventure and downtime, giving you the best of both worlds on the island.
