Need to know
Altitude tip: Quito sits at 2,850 meters (9,350 feet), and surrounding areas climb even higher, so take it slow your first couple of days, stay well-hydrated, and give your body time to adjust.
Getting around: While rental cars are available, private tours offer a more relaxed way to explore, letting you enjoy the sights without the stress of navigating rugged roads or tricky city traffic.
