Curator’s statement
From the moment we flew over the island, I could tell Providenciales (or Provo, as the locals call it) was something truly special. The water? Some of the bluest I’ve ever seen. It’s no wonder this place is consistently ranked among the world’s best beaches. But Provo isn’t just about its stunning shores—it’s also a food lover’s paradise. Whether you’re craving pizza, lobster, or jerk chicken, you’ll find plenty of mouthwatering options. Plus, with endless water activities, it’s the perfect spot for a well-rounded, unforgettable vacation.

Things to do in Provo

Chalk Sound from Las Brisas Restaurant
Kayaking at Chalk Sound: The turquoise waters here are stunning, Thanks to the high salt content. It’s the perfect spot for a peaceful kayak ride through one of the most beautiful spots on the island.
Couples’ massages at The Palms: A visit to The Palms for a couples massage is a must. It’s the ultimate way to relax and unwind with your loved one.
Sunset cruise on a sailboat: Two hours on the water with snacks, drinks, and breathtaking views. It’s a fantastic way to experience Provo from the sea.
Day pass at Club Med: We enjoyed a day pass at Club Med, and while a little pricey, it’s worth it for access to the pool, all-you-can-eat and drink, and water sports like SUP (even though we picked a choppy day). Just a heads-up: Avoid sodas from the bar spouts—stick to bottled water or canned soda to stay safe.
Iguana Island snorkeling: A great excursion for those who love wildlife and underwater adventures. You’ll get to explore Iguana Island and snorkel in some of the clearest waters you’ll ever see.
Favorite beaches: My top picks include Taylor Bay, Sapodilla Bay, and Leeward Beach. Taylor Bay is quieter than Sapodilla, which has become more popular lately, with beach bars and rentals set up by the locals. All are peaceful, stunning, and offer gorgeous, clear water.
Thursday fish fry: If you’re in Provo on a Thursday, don’t miss the weekly fish fry! It’s a fun, lively event full of local culture, delicious food, and a true island vibe.
Places to eat & drink in Provo

Infiniti Restaurant
Sharkbite: Probably the best burgers on the island, plus stunning views of the marina. A great spot for casual dining with a view.
Las Brisas: If you’re a fan of nachos, this is the place to be. They have some of the best nachos on the island, along with a fantastic drink menu. Located right on Chalk Sound.
Omar’s Beach Hut: A beachfront gem where you can enjoy incredible jerk chicken with amazing views of the beach. A relaxed spot to savor both the food and scenery.
Infiniti Restaurant & Raw Bar: Located on Grace Bay, perfect for a sunset dinner. For a more intimate experience, arrange to have your table set directly on the beach.
Bob’s Bar & Eats: This is the place to find the locals, located at the Southside Marina. A laid-back outdoor bar where you’ll meet friendly locals who are great at giving recommendations.
Bella Luna: The go-to spot for fantastic pizza. Enjoy it at the restaurant or grab it to go and take it back to your place. They also have a great Italian restaurant on-site.
Da Conch Shack: A must-visit spot right on the beach in Blue Hills, known for its fresh, delicious conch prepared in every way imaginable. Pro tip: try to visit on a Wednesday for the Junkanoo and Fire Show!
Somewhere Cafe: A great spot for both food and drinks, plus they often have live music on certain days. A casual, fun atmosphere.
Mango Reef: Possibly the best seafood on the island. Located in the same marina as Sharkbite, it’s perfect for a fresh seafood meal.
Coco Van: This food truck, located next to Coco Bistro, offers surprisingly delicious food. It’s a laid-back spot with outdoor seating, and no reservations are needed. People say the chef here is even better than at the main restaurant!
Need to know
While Providenciales is beautiful year-round, it’s best to avoid traveling during hurricane season (typically from September to October). The weather can be unpredictable, and some activities or services may be impacted. Also, if you can, try to avoid flying in on weekends during peak season. You’ll save yourself time on the tarmac and in customs lines.
