Jackson holds a special place in my heart, as it's somewhere I’ve returned to for months at a time over the past five years. Its rugged beauty, vibrant culture, and unparalleled sense of place make it unlike anywhere else in the world. Here, every season feels alive, whether it’s skiing the iconic slopes, exploring the wild expanse of the Tetons, or savoring a perfect coffee in town. Things to do in Jackson, Wyoming

I went dog sledding in Moran a few years ago. It was incredible, and the Tetons in the background made it just that much better!

  • Explore Grand Teton National Park: Immerse yourself in pristine alpine beauty, from serene swims in Jenny Lake to scenic hikes suitable for every age and skill level.

  • Ski Jackson Hole Mountain Resort: Experience world-class slopes known for their challenge and beauty. For the adventurous, a run down the legendary Corbet’s Couloir is the ultimate thrill.

  • Ride the aerial tram: Ascend to the mountain’s peak on a breathtaking 10-minute journey, gaining thousands of feet in elevation. At the summit, indulge in warm, decadent waffles with panoramic views.

  • Visit the National Elk Refuge: In winter, glide across the snow on a horse-drawn sleigh, coming face-to-face with majestic elk in a setting of pure stillness and wonder.

  • Shop in Jackson Town Square: Stroll the charming streets lined with artisan boutiques such as Made and Midnight Lunch, each offering unique treasures to take home.

  • Venture to Victor, Idaho: Just over the pass, discover this emerging gem of a town, brimming with rustic charm and an inviting, small-town elegance.

  • Karaoke at The Virginian Saloon: Wednesday nights here are a spirited mix of local flair and lively entertainment, perfect for a fun, relaxed evening.

  • Dog Sledding: An unforgettable winter adventure where you’ll bond with friendly pups and glide through snowy trails framed by the towering Tetons.

Places to eat & drink in Jackson, Wyoming

One of the most famous bars in America, the Million Dollar Cowboy Bar!

  • Million Dollar Cowboy Bar: An icon of Western elegance, where rich woods, live music, and perfectly crafted cocktails create an unforgettable atmosphere. For a signature experience, order the “Ranch Hand.”

  • Cowboy Steakhouse: Beneath the famed Cowboy Bar lies a sophisticated steakhouse where every cut is perfection. The duck is a sumptuous highlight, worthy of savoring.

  • Local: A polished dining room celebrating regional flavors with finesse. While the menu tempts me to try something new each visit, the oysters and bison tartare always draw me back.

  • Bin 22: A boutique wine shop meets intimate European-style bar. Select a bottle to take home or linger over it here with an artfully arranged charcuterie board.

  • Persephone: A picture-perfect café for brunch or lunch, offering an array of delicate pastries, artisanal coffees, and ceremonial matcha.

  • Cowboy Coffee: A refined yet relaxed coffee house, beloved for the huckleberry mudpot. At the drive-through, pair your brew with a warm breakfast burrito.

  • Kampai: A culinary surprise in the heart of the mountains, serving an omakase that rivals the finest in New York. Their sake selection is impeccable—arrive for happy hour to indulge.

  • Jackson Drug: End your evening on a nostalgic note with a luxuriously creamy, hand-spun milkshake.

  • The Mangy Moose: The ultimate après-ski retreat in the Jackson Hole Village, where the spicy margarita is as legendary as the slopes themselves.

  • Corsa: A sophisticated alpine dining spot serving a carbonara that could compete in Rome. Their espresso martinis are divine, but the margaritas are an unexpected revelation.
