Curator’s statement
I’ve called beautiful Manhattan Beach home for over 30 years, raising my three children in this charming coastal town. It’s not only a wonderful place to live but also an ideal destination for travelers exploring Los Angeles, conveniently located just a 10-minute drive from LAX. Manhattan Beach is a serene and picturesque beach community. Take a leisurely bike ride along the Strand, the beachfront promenade, where you can pause to watch exciting volleyball tournaments or simply enjoy the sight of dolphins and surfers riding the waves.

Manhattan Beach is the perfect layover near LAX
Just five miles south of Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), Manhattan Beach offers travelers an easy escape between flights. It’s a 10- to 20-minute Uber or Lyft ride from the terminals—depending on traffic—and typically costs $15 to $25, a small price to pay for a relaxing recharge.
