Petrópolis: About 1.5 hours from Rio. Highlights: Visit the Imperial Museum, the historic Cathedral of St. Peter of Alcântara and the beautiful Crystal Palace. The charming mountain town is known for its cool climate and colonial architecture.
Búzios: About 2.5 hours from Rio. Highlights: A beautiful beach town known for its charming streets, beaches and vibrant nightlife. Enjoy water sports, shopping and dining by the waterfront.
Cabo Frio: About 2.5 hours from Rio. Highlights: Known for its beautiful white sand beaches and crystal-clear waters. It's a great spot for relaxation and enjoying fresh seafood.
Angra dos Reis: About 2.5 hours from Rio. Highlights: A beautiful coastal town with access to numerous islands and beaches. Take a boat tour to explore the islands and enjoy swimming and snorkeling.
Serra dos Órgãos National Park: About 1.5 hours from Rio. Highlights: Known for its breathtaking mountain landscapes, hiking trails and waterfalls. The park offers stunning views of the famous Dedo de Deus peak.
Ilha Grande: About two hours to Angra dos Reis, plus a boat ride. Highlights: A stunning island known for its pristine beaches, hiking trails and lush rainforests. Spend the day relaxing on Lopes Mendes Beach or exploring the island’s natural beauty.
