Advisor - A Short Trip to London: A 3-Day Itinerary
Curator’s statement

London has so much to offer! I came for only one thing (London NFL game) but left having done so much. It offered history, culture, and an ease of travel that I have yet to experience anywhere else in Europe. I can’t wait to go back!

Day 1: NFL in London

I made friends at the Vikings game

On the first day in London I went to an NFL game between the Cleveland Browns and Minnesota Vikings at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. This could easily be replaced with a Premier League match or an additional tour, depending on your preferences. Tottenham Stadium was beautiful. It is a new stadium and was designed with hosting NFL games in mind. The surrounding neighborhoods provided a small-town feel. The workers around the stadium went out of their way to assist and there was entertainment all around leading up to the game. This was a once-in-a-lifetime experience and I am so glad I took it. I took the bus, but there are also several train options to get you near the stadium.

Day 2: Walking tour

Changing of the Guard

On the second day, I did a walking tour of London to start the day. I was able to see Buckingham Palace (including the changing of the Guard), as well as many other notable historical sites in London. Most similar tours last a couple hours and give you the chance to see a lot in a short time, which is great for a shorter trip. After that, I did some shopping in the Piccadilly Circus area before watching The Book of Mormon at Prince of Wales Theatre in the evening. London has countless shows to see. I had a great time and many laughs. I can’t recommend enough taking advantage of seeing some of the top acting talent in the world.

Day 3: Final tours

I got a photo in the Arsenal locker room

On the third day I decided to take a tour of Emirates Stadium, where Arsenal play. If you are staying in the center of London, it would likely take around 20–30 minutes to get here. Arsenal are one of the most historic clubs in the world, and yet a tour was only around $40. With it, I was able to step out on the field, tour the locker room, and go through their museum. I was not an Arsenal fan going in, but might be now after that experience.

I then took the underground to Covent Garden and checked out the local market area. There was live music and stunt shows, as well as everything from small vendors to big store brands. I took some time to explore Chinatown and more of the Piccadilly area and managed to find a Fanatics sports store. This was heaven for someone like me. I closed out the night and my trip by seeing Moulin Rouge at Piccadilly Theatre. Again, I recommend taking in as many shows as possible while you are in London.

Need to know

Take advantage of all the shops, shows, and events going on all the time in London. Public transit is so simple you do not have to stay in the center of the city. You will never see everything in one trip, so pace yourself!
