Things to do in Florida

  • WaterColor: This is my top recommendation for family vacations. It offers beautiful coastal craftsman houses with wraparound porches, bike paths, nature trails, and access to four resort-style pools, including a water park, and beachfront access at the main pool.

  • Rosemary Beach: If you like European-inspired architecture and cobblestone streets in a beachfront atmosphere, you will love Rosemary Beach. It’s a walkable village with a main town square that has quaint shops and restaurants.

  • Seaside: Utopia comes to mind when you set foot in this little village. It’s the filming location for The Truman Show and has pastel cottages, food trucks, and waterfront dining.

  • Alys Beach: Want to go to Greece but can’t afford it? Get to Alys Beach. The whitewashed buildings, luxury boutiques, and photogenic streets will leave you wanting more.

  • Grayton Beach: If you’re drawn to artsy bohemian vibes, this is where you will want to stay. Grayton Beach has live music, laid-back restaurants, and the well-known Grayton Beach State Park.

  • Crab Island – Destin Harbor: Rent a pontoon or jet ski and spend an afternoon at the sand bar that rivals the Caribbean.

Places to eat & drink in Florida

Alys Beach

  • Airstream Row: Food Trucks lined along Seaside Beach with dozens of choices, from shaved ice to gourmet hotdogs and crepes. Perfect for a lunch bite or late-night snack!

  • Bud & Alleys: A staple in Seaside. Enjoy great pizza or Italian food right on the beach.

  • Amigos 30A – Inlet Beach: This is the place for amazing Mexican and great margaritas. They also have an Italian restaurant next door.

  • The Perfect Pig: A great breakfast and lunch spot with several locations in 30A.

  • George’s – Alys Beach: Upscale beachfront dining perfect for a date night.

  • Ambrosia 30A Prime Seafood & Steaks: An upscale prime steakhouse in Watersound.

Coffee shops

  • Try Amavida or Black Bear Bread Co.
